We stayed during the time of cyclone Belal. Accommodation is absolutely perfect: 10 stars out of 10 :-) The helpfulness, assistance, courtesy and friendliness of the owners. They helped us in a difficult moment. Thank you very much and we hope to use again.

- The price was very reasonable for the space and what it included - Our host kindly communicated well in advance that restaurants and shops would be closed when we arrived, so we knew to buy dinner before we went up the mountain. - Really convenient to have a washing machine - The bus stop to Cilaos is literally around the corner if you didn't feel like driving through the steep terrain. - Our host lives on site in another part of the house, so even though we could not buy a sim card when we arrived at the airport on a weekend, check in was not a problem.

The place was surreal. Calm and tranquil. It was like another country in Reunion, completely different vibe from Saint Dennis and other places. Mr Olivier was really welcoming and friendly. The experience was similar to a chalet in the mountains type of situation. Great place for family and group of friends to stay. Very scenic. Would highly recommend !!

“Wonderful Gite in a Beautiful Valley”

The hosts were very hospitable and accommodating. The apartment was lovely, clean, and outfitted with everything you need, including all kitchen utensils and appliances. It was extremely clean and comfortable. Palmiste Rouge was in a lovely valley surrounded by high mountains, and it made a very nice alternative to staying directly in Cilaos. The apartment was perfect. Our hosts advised us to bring groceries with us and to be prepared to make our own meals because the restaurant in town is closed on Mondays. This was not a problem for us, but travelers should be prepared.
