I cannot wait to come back! The place was absolute paradise and Randy and Jill are amazing hosts. It was lovely getting to watch the sunset every night from my balcony and to spend my days swimming/walking on the beach up to Chelem/Progresso area (but avoiding the crowds and touristy areas when I didnt feel like it). I have never felt so relaxed and so taken care of! Thank you!

Our stay at Puerto del Cielo was one of those experiences that stay with you. We stayed in an apartment with a balcony and outdoor bathtub, perfectly positioned right on the beach — the sound of the sea is constant, soothing, and unforgettable. The owners, Randy and Gill, are exceptionally attentive hosts. They always go the extra mile and offer help in any situation — in our case, they kindly assisted during a brief health issue, which we appreciated deeply. Their warmth and genuine care make this place truly special. The breakfast was excellent, freshly prepared and full of flavor. The whole setting is all about blending completely with nature — you’ll see lizards walking across the terrace, feel the sea breeze, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the surroundings. Don’t come here having five-star ultimate luxury demands — come for something far more valuable: authenticity, calm, and a feeling of being exactly where you belong.

This place is amazing to have a time for you. Beach is just a few steps, the view in the mornings is beautiful. Special thanks to Randy and his wife for such a great hospitality, the breakfast and birthday cake, the morning talks and the snorkel view. We hope see you soon.

“Absolute paradise. Gem of a location”

What an absolute gem of a place. Jill and Randy were lovely and incredibly hospitable. They made so many memorable moments like feeding the gulls and little snacks by the beach. It was also my partners birthday whilst we were there, and they made it so special for her, and we are very thankful. We will certainly be back next year, and we already can't wait. Thank you!

“Cozy and Relaxing”

The room was spacious and the ocean view was awesome. We liked the hotel so much and we stayed all day at the hotel instead of going out. The owner is a friendly couple and the wife made breakfast. We got Waffles and Omulett and both were really good!

A great room with our own pool and loads of comfy outside patio space, amazing animal life in sea (rays and dolphins) and land (Iguanas and hummingbirds). Our hosts Randy & Jill were incredibly attentive, Jill made us some delicious meals (breakfast not to be missed) and Randy provided much info on the sea wildlife, we had a special Kayak trip and met some dolphins.

Puerto del cielo is a super cute family run hotel in a lovely peaceful spot by the sea, and away from the toursit bustle of Progresso to the East. Jill and Randy were the most helpful and lovely hosts who really looked after me, including hooking me up with a bike rental and pointing me towards local rustic spots to grab food. The rooms are incredibly nice and tastefully done, and I loved my twenty yard stroll down into the warm ocean then sits in the thatch covered veranda watching the waves and writing. I will come again.

We couldn’t be happier with our stay at Puerta del Cielo. The beach was one of the best we have visited with amazing sunsets and warm water. The hosts are wonderful, very friendly and attentive. We visited to celebrate my husband birthday. Jill and Randy made it very special for us. We stayed at the room with a pool and loved it. Last but not least breakfasts were always delicious.
