Lovely place to stay, beautiful view, comfortable, clean. Separate bedroom and lounge. Very nice and helpful owner, who went out of her way to provide place for a trailer.. Breakfast items were provided. Everything we possibly needed while away from home, was there.

Just the drive way on the road stated as the address. A bit awkward to get into and out when we arrived. But we were directed to a side street which was much better to park in.

Nice well presented accommodation. Very clean. Just outside of central city,easy to get around. Friendly host.

Jen was a very friendly host who made me feel at home. The addition of some snacks in the fridge was a welcome surprise after my 28 hour flight to New Zealand and allowed me to go into “relaxation mode” straight away. The accommodation contains everything for an independent traveler including a powerful hot shower and even a washing machine. The use of a private pool was great (although unused due to cool temperatures at this time of year) and it was nice to sit out on the porch area and appreciate the views over the whole of Christchurch from the elevated position of the property. I was very pleased with my stay at The But n Ben.

It has everything you need for a holiday home. Love the washing machine. It is an extremely spacious property plus a comfort bed. The provision in the fridge was generous.

The host is very nice and helpful and is very generous with breakfast , snacks and condiments which were very much appreciated , the location is easy access to get into town with a vehicle, The accomodation is very spacious and clean . I would not hesitate to stay here again

Run down, and needing renovation

Very peaceful. Comfy bed. Wine and crackers on arrival were great. Host was awesome, stored our extra luggage for us and very good to deal with.

It's a great little space with cooking facilities and a washing machine. The shower water pressure was good. It has a lovely peaceful outlook. We loved waking up to bird song. Jen our host is lovely. She even provided us a bottle of wine and salami, hummus cheese and crackers on arrival. We were so tired after travelling, we ate it for dinner 🤣! We were travelling elsewhere for a night and coming back. Jen has stored our extra luggage for us so we dont have to have the bags taking up half of the lounge area., which is so thoughtful. The But n Ben is in a great location and we are able to use it as a base to explore Christchurch and do day trips. We highly recommend the But and Ben for a couple travelling who want a mix of eating out and self catering.
