What made our stay exceptional was Howie the manager. My family arrived after us and wanted to stay at Sandy Feet as well. But there wasn't enough room for everyone but Howie found a place close by for them... that's not his job but he went that extra mile and that makes the difference

Howie was very friendly and helpful. Bertie was a delight. Room was very good value for money and was clean and well equipped. Shower was great as was the location to beach etc. Free parking on road was a bonus.

The main host was rude, not welcoming as you expect a hospitality host to be. We were late to check in due to unexpected rain in the South Island and drive took longer than expected as we wanted to drive safe. Because we were late the host was rude by reminding us the check out is at 10 am. With such behavior obviously I wouldn’t want to stay longer because it’s common sense that all stays have a standard check out time and there’s no need for a rude reminder. Although most places have a flexible check in even if it’s late they should arrange a key to pick up in safe place as most places does if that’s what triggered the whole behaviour or if they are usually so rude. To add on the booking said private bathroom it’s not along with the cabin it’s separate in the main house so you need to walk all the way to main house and shower which is right next to the reception, which had to be mentioned in the booking to know it’s not really private.

Nice and chill. Good location close to the pier and the hot pools.
