“Beautiful place and lovely hosts”

I had a wonderful stay at Designer Cottage. The place is absolutely charming, very cosy and full of character. The breakfast was excellent, and everything made me feel comfortable and at home from the very first moment. But what really made the experience special were the hosts, Chet and Steve. They are incredibly kind and welcoming, and I truly enjoyed our conversations so much. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Christchurch .

We had a wonderful stay. The host was very thoughtful and prepared fried udon for breakfast (seeing that we are Malaysians and probably miss Asian food). We loved the fantastic tour of their incredible garden. Learned so much about local fruits & flowers. Thank you! Will definitely recommend family and friends to stay here.

Excellent location and close to public transport to the city and the airport. Delightfully decorated and comfortable facilities with a suoerb hosted breakfast. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

What a delightful accommodation find, and an unexpected surprise of a kitchenette in our cottage. Host Steve met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the facilities and a page with a map and suggestions. Host Chet served breakfast and provided more tips and suggestions. Many laughs were enjoyed - it's rare to find this level of personalised service in a B&B. The premises (both the dwellings and the gardens) have been meticulously designed and curated. Breakfast is from 8-9am. The location is a walkable distance to the CBD. We stayed 2 nights, and it's a great location to use as a base when exploring the beyond ChCh.

The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast definitely filled the spot each morning. Very close to bus services which was great since we didn't have a car.

Great breakfast with some home-made options. Location is some distance from the city. I had made an error with my booking date, and I arrived i=one day early. The host was offsite and came back to accommodate me and change the booking date.

Great quiet location in a suburb of Christchurch, so the gps was very helpful. Lovely old world charm house. Beautiful bedroom with a comfortable bed. Lovely smelling fresh linen and decor of room very nice. Both hosts are very warm and friendly with great suggestions. Continental breakfast was plentiful and well presented. Would highly recommend this property.

Easy to find from the main routes, within walking distance from the centre of Christchurch, very friendly owners who make for a relaxed, comfortable stay. Good sized bedroom, lovely breakfast room where you can meet others and chat. We have stayed there three times now and wouldn't go anywhere else in Christchurch.
