Overview
Tucked away in the impressive Colca Valley, this rustic-style inn features thermal baths, one of them being covered, the others being opened, all of them, nestled in a majestic landscape with a view of the Colca river and dominants mountains. Rooms are styled with rustic walls in delicate pale olive shades, all of them having a view of the valley and the river. Each room has a small balcony or terrace where you can admire a splendid view. All rooms have modern private bathrooms. A full American breakfast is served in the Restaurant; this one features panoramic windows with views of the valley and serves local specialties. There is also a small central iron-cast fireplace. El Refugio is ideally located 500 metres from Chivay’s bus station.

“Beautiful location but it needs the finishing touches!”
Very Nice location with beautiful gardens and hot springs. Staff is very friendly and has helped us very good with a transfer back to Arequipa.

“A nice hotel inn a pretty location. The altitude is quite high, so visitors need to be prepared!”
The breakfast was very good. We were quite sick after travelling to almost 5,000 metres altitude from Arequipa, the Dr was called out and he was very helpful. A lovely secluded location in nice countryside. Very good food and then staff were most helpful.

Male concierge greeting us was lovely. And very informative. The sound of the river flowing around the property was amazing. The free use of the hot springs whilst being able to gaze out at the mountains. Lovely place.

“Relaxing stay in the wild in the Colca Canyon”
Wonderful place in the wild. Really enjoyed the hot springs, even though they were not super hot. The dinner we had at the restaurant was very good! Staff was kind and welcoming
