We stayed here at Hotel da Giovanna for a night before commencing the via di San Francesco. Very comfortable and clean. Manager/staff were very warm and welcoming and we had a very enjoyable stay. Food was great, breakfast generous too. Close to the path to walk up to the sanctuary.

Liked everything about the place. Location just 30 minutes from La Verna Monastery, small but good shower, good food and especially friendly owner/staff

The couple who run the hotel are very friendly! We arrived on a rainy day and he did everything to make our stay pleasant. The tiramisu she makes is wonderful!!

Very good location, only 15-20 minutes walk to monastery La Verna. Great breakfast! The room was clean and cosy.

I can't recommend this place enough. We are a group of pilgrims that stayed here before beginning our journey towards Assisi. We were warmly welcomed at the property (even though we arrived inconveniently late), we then had the most perfect dinner and a very good night sleep. Breakfast is another thing to look forward to whilst staying here. Grazie mille to all the brilliant and kind staff!

The bathroom was modern, room was very clean, there is a lift to upper floors, very friendly staff, great food in the restaurant, very welcoming to people walking the Way of St. Francis, great location at the start of a trail that goes up to the Santuario della Verna.

Da Giovanna is run by its owner and all went smoothly during our stay. It's great when the person running a hotel has time to speak with guests. The place is impeccably clean - even the bottles of wine on the shelves are sparkling and dust-free. The rooms are on the small side, but again, everything is smart and clean; the bed linen was crisp and white. The bathroom is small, but looked very new. Everything worked, the towels were nice and there were plenty of shampoos and soap. Our room on the second floor had a little balcony. Also nice was a little lounge downstairs where one could enjoy a drink after the meal; there was a similar lounge area with some sofas on the second floor where one could just chill out. Similarly on the first floor, there's a little outdoor seating area. These spaces give character to the place. Breakfast was OK. Fresh pastries, bread, ham, cheese, butter, eggs. jams, rusks, some cereals and fruit. Dinner was very nice. We paid around 59 euro for two first courses, two second meat courses and sides, and a large bottle of beer. There is some street parking right across the road, and more parking just further along the same road.
