We had a great time — everything was top-notch. We even came back a second time because we really enjoyed it. We did a jeep safari and canoeing — tons of impressions! We were lucky enough to see a rhino up close, which was absolutely unforgettable. Our child was thrilled, and as a parent, I’m very happy too. I also checked the market, and in terms of price and activities, this is probably the best offer out there. Highly recommended!

I don’t like the owner, he is weird and I don’t trust him. They are desperately trying to sell you trips to the jungle, which can be very annoying. Had to pay for two nights although I checked out after one night.

This hotel is a scam!!! Don’t go there unless you want to book a tour through the owner. The room prices may seem cheap, but that’s just a trick to get you to book an overpriced tour with him. Before even showing you your room, he’ll present a ‘plan’ for the next few days and pressure you to make a decision right away, which is completely ridiculous. They even watch you to make sure you don’t talk to other tourists, so you can’t form alliances. Even though we had already booked a tour with another provider, he kept trying to discredit all other tour companies and pressure us into booking with him instead. There’s no hospitality here, just constant pressure. It’s impossible to make your own decisions, and trust is never built. We went with our already-booked tour provider, as we had clearly communicated right in the beginning before check-in. The next day, we got a message from Booking.com saying the owner claimed we hadn’t shown up. Despite paying for the room in cash, he tried to charge us double through the ‘no-show’ function via the credit card we used for booking. When confronted, he admitted. He also tried to overcharge another tourist who didn’t book a tour through him, giving her absurd prices for a private room with a bathroom after her tour. But once the tour was over, that room wasn’t available anymore, and arriving in the evening she was offered the cheap room instead with a cold shared shower she had specifically wanted to avoid. And when you want to talk to the owner he is not available only by mobile phone… I’ve never experienced anything like this. Go with other providers who have great reviews instead! I’m so disappointed because that’s not how you build trust with your visitors. Be very careful when choosing your guide for a walking safari — you’re trusting this person with your life!

Great place to stay, friendly staff. Amazing value for money. Unfortunately I stayed only 2 nights and did not do the walk which was highly recommended by other travellers.

Very affordable hotel just 5 mins walk from the National park gates. Kind staff let me store my backpack while I was on a jungle trek and shower once I returned. Knowledgeable and experienced tour guide.

Found Shambu great and the entire staff. Food was delicious, including breakfast. Gardens great & nice vibe. Best was booking Shambu for the 8/9hrs jungle walk, amazing saw 2 week old baby Rino & mum.Also did the canoe down river with almost 4 hrs jungle walk, then afternoon Jeep, saw Rino’s, deer, crocodile, birds, mongoose, on both trips but the walk was the best. If you can try to stay a night or two in the Jungle. Shambu will tailer a safari to your desire at a cheaper than anywhere price.

Location was great, short walk to centre/National park. Kitchen staff were extremely accommodating and woke up early every day to make us breakfast during Ramadan. Which was very kind. Rooms are simple but comfortable with hot water. Good value for money.

A beautiful hotel five minutes from downtown. Quality-price is incredible since it is very cheap but at the same time it is very comfortable and beautiful. The staff is very attentive and detailed, you can also agree on jungle activities with them at very good prices.

Nice and basic, wifi worked well, and the staff were friendly and kind. A little noisy! (From other guests) But I guess that's why this place is cheaper than most in Sauraha.
