Lovely big property Characterful Near to Chinon - really nice historic lively town

Great host, with good recommendations. The house has everything you might need and lots of different spaces for relaxing. Location was wonderful.

An Absolutely Stunning Home! This is a truly magnificent and huge house set in a breathtakingly beautiful location. It is equipped with literally everything you might need for a perfect stay—and then some! We were especially charmed by the wonderful library (I only wish I could read French to enjoy it fully!). The real highlight for us was the abundance of beautiful and diverse plants, both inside the home and in the lovely garden. It felt like a green paradise. Last but not least, a huge thank you to the gracious and helpful host, Jean-Claude, who made us feel so welcome. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Beautiful property, well maintained, with great facilities and lots of space. The outside space was great and the pool was lovely. The location was just out of town a short cycle or walk to the main town centre, but was nice a quiet. The owner was really helpful and responsive, could not ask for any better.

The property was fantastic and the location was perfect for a relaxed family holiday, just a 20 minute walk to beautiful Chinon centre. The house had everything we needed, it was very private and quiet and the pool was lovely. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful, even providing us with some delicious pastries for our journey home.

Big house with lots of space, fully equipped and charmingly decorated. Great, spacious pool with lots of different groups of sun beds around. Wonderful place for meals outside. Everything provided, very relaxing. Table tennis, a cupboard full of games in the house. Very nice canoe rental down in Chinon.

“Even better than we hoped for!”

A beautiful house in a lovely quiet village, 20 mins walk into Chinon made this a perfect location for our holiday. The house is lovely, beautifully decorated and very well equipped with everything we needed, including a lovely outdoor area and pool. The host, Jean-Claude was very welcoming, meeting us on arrival and showing us round the house. He also very kindly bought us some groceries to see us through to the first morning as we arrived after the supermarket closed on the first evening. We had a lovely couple of weeks here and I hope to return again in future

“Fantastic accommodation for several couples in a quiet village”

Fantastic accommodation in a very quiet village. The house and surrounding gardens are spacious, look newly renovated with a modern kitchen and living room, and extra points for lighting. Each of the rooms are styled to the smallest detail, with large comfortable beds. This house can easily accommodate several couples for a holiday to Chinon or surroundings. The pool is of course a major plus!

5 of us stayed at La Douce France for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The house is really spacious and you can see the effort that has gone into providing everything you could need. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well kept and the pool, garden, bbq area mean you can spend full days there in the sun. The house was clean on arrival and off-street parking is provided. No shops nearby but only a 20min walk to Chinon which has plenty of restaurants and boulangeries, and cycle and canoe hire.

Fabulous property just outside Chinon. The host met us and was super welcoming. The house is very spacious and well appointed with big comfy beds. The saltwater pool is a good size and depth. Large outside seating area with a charcoal barbecue.

Everything! The house is beautiful and the location is very special. The house had absolutely everything we could possibly need. Jean-Claude has decorated the house beautifully and it is so comfortable and easy to stay in. Jean-Claude is lovely, easy to deal with and very helpful. One of the best holiday houses we’ve stayed in. Will definitely come back! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful host - lovely welcome present including thoughtful croissants for our breakfast. Fully equipped kitchen - everything you need. Beautiful garden and outside seating. Good off street parking.

“Family Oasis in the Loire Valley”

Melany and Jean-Claude created a beautiful oasis where all our family had a wonderful holiday in the Loire Valley. Everything we needed - and more - was available to ensure we could concentrate on enjoying ourselves thoroughly. We couldn't recommend this location highly enough.

Location is wonderful, the accommodation has so much space and the pool is lovely. The garden is a little like paradise. Would highly recommend everything. The host is so welcoming too.

Jean Claude's place was big, spacious and very accommodating for our party of 7 (6 adults and 1 toddler). We had a lovely afternoon in the pool and headed out to a restaurant as per one of Jean Claude's recommendations which was delicious. Jean Claude was a fantastic host and we felt welcomed from the minute he opened up the place for us. It was very clean and comfortable and we would happily stay again.

The house is super cozy and lovely. Lots of refinements. But above all, we loved the fact that everything is done so that the traveler lacks nothing, down to the smallest detail. It's very rare to see that, and just like the hosts, we found them to be wonderful.

Great pool, well equipped house and good location for walking biking to Chinon which is a lovely town. Good communication with host - friendly and welcoming.

five eople, 4 days - the stay in "la douce france" was the best we could dream of. the villa is beautifull. the kitchen very good and Jean Clode (a great host) left milk. lovely fruit pies and frech baguette for our first day. the place is lovely. it was so fun there with the swiming pool and everything that we decided to stay in the villa a whole day and enjoy it instead of sightseeing. it was also a great base for sightseeing and Jean Claude gave us excellent tips for traveling around, definitely do what he says!! he knows.. + nice ALDI supermarket 4 minutes driving from there. don't forget to sit outside at night with no lights and look at the marvelous stary sky.. and don't hesitate. take this place! we enjoyed every second there.

Great location for exploring the area, Chinon centre just a pleasant 20 minute walk. The house was spacious, very well furnished and supplied with everything required. Lovely private pool. Alex the host was amazing - very friendly and helpful
