“Lovely Japanese experience”

We had lovey one night there. If you want to experience staying over at Rayokan then this is the place for you. Our room was very spacious but basic (as Rayokan should be), food was excellent, we had their traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast, they have outdoor privet onsen (hot water). The stuff was super friendly. Beautiful setting ideally removed from the centre.

Location was great. The Owner and staff were super friendly and helpful.

“Our stay was heavenly, relaxing and divine.”

The setting of the hotel was in a most tranquil and picturesque location. The owner Mr Kitazawa was extremely gracious and kind, making several phone calls to us so that he could collect us from the bus stop and save us a taxi fare. He seemed more like a friend than just a hotel owner, welcoming his guests with marvellous courtesy. All his staff were so humble and helpful. The food was if the highest standard and variety and was all inclusive in our price. The breakfast and dinner service was immaculate. Above all the private outdoor baths were magical with amazing views and soothing temperatures. This experience and our stay was so memorable. It was a very secret location.

Beautiful location and amazing food for a real taste of Japan.. The private outside onsen was lovely with great views over the hills - a great way to relax after a busy day. The owner was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us and even gave us a lift back to the station when we were leaving, which was a great help.

“Comfortable and Warm.”

The onsen was beautifully located so that you can view the scenery outside. The food was magnificent and presented very well. They were all very courteous and generous with their time.

All the meals were exceptional - traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner. It was beautifully plated and delicious if you want to experience traditional local cuisine! The rooms were large and the bed was very comfortable. We were able to reserve the private outdoor Onsen every day which was magical! The view was amazing looking over the snowy mountains and the Onsen was clean and very relaxing. The staff was very attentive and wanted to provide us with everything we needed and more!
