The warmth and hospitality of Max, the owner is a key differentiator of this ideally-situated, clean and cozy hostel. Since it is also Max’s home, Posada de Luna is spotless and doesn’t feel like a hostel at all. It’s a perfect place to unwind, spend a few days exploring the scenic area or as a stop before / after crossing the border with Argentina. Max can also arrange very reasonably-priced transport through both immigration checkpoints to Los Antiguos in Argentina and this was another very useful service. I have stayed in over thirty five hostels across Chile and this place stands out as amongst the very best.

“Fantastic base camp for trekking Patagonia National Park”

Max was a fantastic host, friendly and communicative and even helped us sort out transport to Jeinemeni national park and stored our excess luggage for the 5 days we were trekking. We returned for another 2 relaxing nights after our hike and enjoyed the thoughtful touches and company of Max and the other guests. Breakfast was great too and you can tell Max is passionate about the business and working hard to make it a great stay for all.

Everything is very clean, good location and the hostel owner is a very helpful and welcoming person. You’ll feel very comfortable there!
