A quiet sanctuary in a rural setting with a great pool. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. The amazing food was the best we had in Sri Lanka, and our hosts made our stay perfect. Organised and Tuk-Tuk to take us to chilaw and look around.

A very elegant bungalow in the quiet countryside. Ideal for a family vacation but perhaps a bit big for us, just a couple cycling through, and a bit remote from stores and restaurants.

We had an amazing stay at the elegant home stay. The accomodation is beautiful and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the outside area and pool. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly and the meal we ate in the evening was the best we have had so far ! We wish we could have stayed longer.

“Wonderful stay, lovely family, delicious food.”

The comfort of the house, the friendliness of the family and the wonderful home-cooked food. This is truly a gem. The 'homestay' is in reality a lovely house with all the comfort you can think of, including a small private pool. The house is built in the - huge - yard of the family, but everything is geared towards your privacy. The host Sherry is a wonderful cook, and can teach you everything on Sri Lankan food. Her husband can arrange for trips and further transport. Definitely the best place we've stayed in in Sri Lanka.

This accommodation is very special and we felt like we were in an oasis of calm. The pool was perfect, the house is in a beautiful garden among coconut palms. The mini house is very well equipped for European style (we very much appreciated the separate shower). We really haven't found a single mistake. Too bad we only stayed one night, it was probably the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka for a month.

Everything was amazing. The place was peaceful and beautiful, the couple made us feel like home and the food was delicious. We got to relax and learn a lot about the country

“Peaceful and Perfect”

We LOVED our stay at Elegant Hamlets. Don't be fooled by the name.... it is one hamlet that is totally for you and your guests to enjoy. You are positioned away from the hosts and it feels like you are in your own private oasis. Our hosts were extraordinary, going out of their way to make sure absolutely everything was perfect. Breakfast was lovely and served in the gorgeous outdoor kitchen area. We made good use of the plunge pool..... just right for those humid Sri Lankan days. Our stay was far enough away from the busy areas but close enough that we were able to go out exploring in the area and return home easily. If you are looking for amazing hosts, a quiet haven away from everyone and for a gorgeous hamlet to relax in, then this is the place for you. You will not be disappointed.

“Peaceful and Private Perfection”

We had an extraordinary stay at Elegant Hamlets Home Stay. The accommodation is one large A framed villa that is set in a beautiful and peaceful garden. Privacy is key!!!! Even though you are right beside the owners in their own house, your villa faces away from the owners' property and is in its own yard. Step out into your private garden and enjoy your very own small plunge pool... perfect for those hot and humid Sri Lankan days and nights. The pool area also has numerous options for seating and enjoying the pool area. Inside, the villa certainly exudes its own charm, with an upstairs mezzanine containing 2 single beds. We were met with a cool, refreshing juice and indulged in breakfast each morning which was very tasty. Our tuk tuk was happily parked under the covered carport and the detached kitchen area, containing everything you need to do your own cooking OR a great place to indulge in breakfast, was an added bonus. Overall, the facilities offered were outstanding, as were our hosts. This was our favourite stay in Sri Lanka!!

Very nice and attentive host. Despite the pouring rain, he welcomed us in a friendly and very helpful manner. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and served in a small pavilion. The pool is small but it is enough to cool off in.

This looked too good to be true I nearly didn’t choose it. And it was just what my heart and soul needed. Lying outside alone in nature with the sound of beautiful birds and swishing coconut trees, with tropical butterflies flitting around. The most lovely hosts and the most wonderful food cooked just for me. The love they put into everything is so wonderful. Thank you so much 🙏✨🌸

Everything was perfect, from the food and the hospitality, to the facilities and tranquillity of the place. 10/10 recommend!

This place is paradise. 10/10 on everything. We kept being surprised, by even the smallest things in the private house. It is fabulous and clean, there are perfect towels, good shower everything is clean and nice. On top of this the hosts are so nice. We had a home cooked meal which was the best food we ate in Sri Lanka and such nice welcome and tips and information for the rest of our trip. Thank you both for the wonderfull stay!
