“No frills, but good value for the money.”
A reading lamp in the room would've been a big improvement.

“Cheaper Hotel with the basics needed for a short stay. Nothing flash but did the job.”
It was cheap and suited me for 2 nights. Everything else was booked out and prices inflated as it was a long weekend due to the Tomb Festival. It is an old apartments type building but had things like a fridge and kettle. I have stayed in other Hotels in Taiwan that were more expensive and had no fridge or a kettle. Another thing Hotels in Taiwan seem to lack is an iron and ironing board. Maybe ironing ones clothes isn't a big thing there?? The place is not far from a train line but it didn't affect me. The guy who runs the place spoke enough English to understand and was helpful with a quick and smooth check-in.

“Poor location poor service”
Hotel was expensive for what you get. At a third of the price it would be reasonable.its a 25-30 minute walk from the train station. Hotel was one of those with bathroom tiled hallways outside the room that magnify any sound, and people were coming and going till 11pm ish reasonably enough. Access and security were fine. No wi-fi. The room has cold bathroom tile floor, aged and stained beige colour walls, a metal frame formica top desk with drawers, and old wardrobe that looks like doors would fall off if you opened it. The bed is one of those hardboard China mattresses. But the room and bedding was clean just dated. Bathroom door doesn't fully open as it hits the sink, so you need to lean over sideways to wash. Shower might or might not work, but with the semi bare wires I have no intention of trying it. The toilet brush was lent against the wall with no holder. Nowhere to hang up clothes or towel. Mosquitos attacked in the night, and no bed net. Overall, the one redeeming feature of the hotel was the managers son, Kevin, who was very friendly and helpful. I would not recommend staying here.

It is said non smoking room but we smell smoke all night. The bed was very unconfortable. And it was written in the announce room with balcony , we didn't have balcony. Just a window with view on an other building. It was very expansive(2000TWD) for one night because it was saturday but it is clearly not the price for this room.
