Honestly, the place didn’t feel super clean. Bathrooms are old and moldy; my bed was right next to the bathroom wall and had a bit of mold; the room smelled REALLY bad; and, the beds were missing wooden support pieces which made it loud when moving and didn’t make me feel super safe with someone sleeping above me. It’s also pretty loud and the staff aren’t particularly nice

Good location, clean, and good value for money. All beds have curtains. It's a little weird to walk through a storefront to get to the accommodation & showers, but the staff are clearly used to it and it even gave an extra level of security to the place. Drinking water provided downstairs (warm & hot only, no cups) and fridge upstairs near rooms. The common space was simple but I was glad to have it. It's nothing fancy but for the money this place was fine.

Great location, value for money. It was simple and clean. It is not a new place, no new amenities, to the contrary. But everything worked well enough. And really we didn't need anything more. The quirkiness of it all was something we really appreciated actually.

Cheapest hostel in Taiwan. Close to night market and walking distance to train station where you can get the bus to Alishan.township ( Note you need to stop at Shizhao/Shizhou ) if you want the best hiking trail and views)The staff speak English well

The shower was hot, gels and shampoo too, WiFi worked, there are places to relax, the room is air conditioned, everything is fine.

“Decent hostel close to night market”

Hostel is actually managed by the florists, entry is through the flower shop. Decent hostel but lacks social atmosphere. Very close to night market, only 10 mins by foot. There are eateries closeby, including eel noodles. Staff are friendly and helpful. Train station is 20 mins walk away.

Single room has an AC that make so much noise that is impossible to sleep with. Without the AC the room is so hot that, again, is impossible to sleep. The sheets were stained. The shared bathroom, two floors downstairs, is in horrible condition.

Kite hostel is 10 minutes from main train station and right next to the local night market, it's location is perfect. Based on previous reviews I was ready for overall lower quality and thanks to that I really enjoyed my stay here. Other hosts at the room were very nice, there was a common area for use, chance to buy some postcards, souvenirs or necessary hygiene products. The biggest punk was connected to shower which was shared with toilet in an older bathroom, but thanks to flippers we could borrow in the room it was also very much okay. The flower shop on first floor was very cute and a nice entrance to the hostel. 🥰
