“Small quiet hostel”

I stayed in the private room (there is only one). It’s a lovely room, large window looking out over the city with lots of natural light, it’s on the top floor so there’s a few stairs you have to go up (no elevator). Room has no kettle, so prepare a large water bottle. No hair dryer. Basic soap and shampoo provided in shower. Bed and linens are really comfortable, very soft, softest bed I’ve had in a long while. It can get hot but there’s a AC unit and it works super quickly. WiFi was reliable throughout my stay. The hostel can help you organize some tours. The hostel has two common areas, one for lounging and one for eating food. They have a common fridge you can use. No food or drinks except water allowed in any of the rooms, also no large bags in the dorm, large bags are kept in lockers downstairs. This is to prevent bugs from being attracted to the rooms. It’s possible to meet people here, but it’s not a super social hostel and certainly not a party hostel, it is quiet during the day and at night. Location is good, walking distance from many sites and with lots of restaurants and massage places around. Owner is really friendly. There’s a small, simple breakfast provided in the morning. Check out is 12pm.

I had such a lovely stay at this hostel. What I appreciated the most was how peaceful and calm everything felt, perfect place if you really want to rest. Koki at reception was amazing. She genuinely cares, gives great recommendations, and is always happy to help with anything you need. You can really feel that she wants you to have the best possible experience. I loved how quiet and cool it was inside, a real escape from the heat outside. The beds are very comfortable, so it’s easy to get a good night’s sleep. The hostel is kept incredibly clean. The location is perfect too. Super recommended!!

“Guests were cold; everything else great”

The owner / manager was extremely friendly, accomodating and helpful. The dorms were very comfortable.

This place felt like a home away from home, Koki along with the cleaning lady truly try their best to accomodate all their guests' wishes and needs. The hostel is beautifully designed with great attention to detail, spotless clean with cozy communal areas. A very quiet place, yet you always get to meet nice fellow travellers. The location is perfect, right in the very centre of the old town but a little bit hidden in a side street from the noise of the city. If I ever come back to Chiang Mai, I will definitely stay here again!

This hostel is very cozy and quiet. If you’re looking for a peaceful yet convenient place to stay, this is a perfect choice. I stayed in both the mixed dorm and the female dorm, and both rooms were clean and comfortable. The common area is also very nice and welcoming. The location is great: close to 7-Eleven, massage shops, food options, and currency exchange. The host, Koki, is very kind and considerate, and easy to communicate with. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend it.

“Felt like home after a few hours”

This accommodation was super super clean and cosy. Due to some damage in one of the mixed dorms during my stay (end of Jan 26) it was mostly us girls from the female dorm, which has been super cozy and familiar. To be honest, it was perfect this way. I wanted to extend my stay as I liked it so much, but unfortunately it was all booked out. - WiFi was super super fast and stable - Lockers large enough to fit a whole backpack - capsule style beds were great for privacy - perfect AC temperature that didn’t feel freezing cold at night

I like everything from this place, I love the trust and freedom from the owner. It is a small hostel but perfect if you don’t want a party hostel but still meet people. The place was clean and always organised, amazing location too. Thanks to the owner for its amazing service and help! I would recommend this place 100/100!!

Papking was my home is Chiang Mai. Where do I begin? I woke up each day feeling the need to smile and feel loved by the owners - Koki and Paul. They were the two most incredible hosts that I have come across in my years of traveling. I had initially booked a week's stay and then extended it to about 23 days, because a week of love and warmth wasn't enough! The space in itself is stunning with chic minimalist interiors that are blended with comfort and gives a sense of luxury while being affordable. The hygeine is top notch as the team works cautiously to ensure that it is spic and span by steaming the beds each time a guest checks out. I have not witnessed this level of hygiene anywhere else - and this is all thanks to Koki who believes that her guests must be comfortable and healthy while they stay here. She is someone who goes above and beyond to ensure the comfort of someone who stays at Pakping by also guiding them to local activities that are unique and versatile to experience in the ethereal city of Chiang Mai. She helps you feel at home and checks on you if there is something that you need. I loved her energy and look forward to going back soon. The icing on the cake is her lil corgi dog Nico who pays a visit. Overall if I have to sum up my experience I want to say that I found a home in a different country and now Chiang Mai will be a place I will always go back to - all thanks to my dear friend Koki and her husband Paul. Hands down the two of the nicest folks in the world! Wish you guys the best of everything - until we meet again <3

“Best hostel in Chiangmai”

Everything! The owners and staff were fantastic, super helpful, attentive, friendly and genuine. Felt like being a part of a larger tribe. The hostel itself was outstanding in cleanliness and the furniture was modern and comfy.

The room is not very spacious but is clean. The bathroom was clean. The hostel convenient location is close to everything in the city center of Chiang Mai, from our room we could even see the tower of the city center main temple.

“Perfect location, friendly staff and super clear!”

Friendly staff who really wanted to help and shared their knowledge. Everything you needed was there, well equipped kitchen and social spaces. The property was super clean and well maintained. We had the private room which was on the top floor out of the way. As a hostel it was incredible quiet, which we really liked. Good location, close to temples and other attractions.

“Fantastic hostel - loved it”

Everything was perfect, the owners were amazing anytime you needed help. They were great with giving you guidance on activities to do. Such a lovely atmosphere.

The owners are the best <3. The beds being pods is great and so comfy, your own little private bedroom. The curtains are black out curtains so also very good. I had a great rest. Next to that I felt the safest I've felt in a hostel. I wish I stayed longer.

Staff were helpful, the lobby/outdoor area were especially nice to hang out in, the free breakfast was a bonus. The area around the hostel is good, very close to the centre of the city.
