“Perfect (especially if you are taking a river cruise)”

This hotel is perfect for an overnight stay before boarding your Mekong river cruise, just as I did. The hotel is quite simple and barebones, but is comfortable, clean and perfectly located. Views of the river are amazing and the value is excellent. Moreover, the owners, Kai and Yao are amazing and will make you feel at home. They speak some of the best English I have seen in Thailand. They coordinate with the cruise company proactively, and even had some breakfast ready at 7am before pick up, despite the room not including breakfast.

Location and staff

Very friendly and helpful owners. I only stayed for one night before getting the boat to laos. The boat operators had left information for me with the owners who were helpful with filling out the immigration forms in advance and getting everyone onto their correct van in the morning. The room was perfectly fine with a nice view over the river from the balcony.

“A lovely and restful stay, in a good sized room”

Nice big rooms, beautiful views at breakfast, and very very good value overall. The couple running Day Waterfront were brilliant, so helpful with details and paperwork regarding the border crossing the following day. They were so warm and welcoming we really had a lovely stay.

The hotel has beautiful views of the lake and border, the rooms were spacious. The owners were extremely helpful - made sure to guide us through the border crossing process, without us even asking, and providing the forms we needed to fill (for free). The owner also gave us some food for the slow boat journey, and waved to the boat from the hotel when we set sail after crossing the border.

Hosts are incredibly kind and helpful, also allowed us early check in and gave plenty of advice about immigration into Laos, local restaurants, and so on. We had a wonderful view from our bedroom balcony and felt truly relaxed. We would definitely come back again

The staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The hotel manager, Kai, spoke very good English and was a pleasure to chat to. They both went above & beyond to assist us with immigration forms and logistics for our slow boat departure (with the Nagi of Mekong cruise). They even prepared a small complimentary breakfast for us on the morning of our pick-up transfer to the border. We got a big wave from Kai as a final touch as we passed by the hotel on the boat. Truly made our stay a memorable experience and would recommend highly to anyone needing accommodation the night before their slow boat to Laos.

After a long day from Luang Prabang by train and minibus, it was so lovely to drop our luggage in the Day Waterfront. The hotel is spotless and the room spacious. It's probably a 2* hotel, a pristine 2*. What's 5* here are the husband and wife hosts. They both spoke excellent English and were a joy to chat with - they struck us as people who love their job , which is a sort of post-retirement hobby for both of them. As we arrived fairly late, around 2100, they advised us to go to the Jam Restaurant opposite them for food. What a great recommendation - the woman running the place was a real character who could express herself so well, in spite of her limited English - what a joy she was. The food was great too. Couldn't have asked for a better end to a long day on the road..
