Central location, clean hotel, great view from the terrace, value for money

“A peaceful and authentic stay.”

I had a wonderful stay at Dar Besmellah and ended up extending my stay for four nights. The accommodation is simple and basic, but very clean, comfortable, and full of artistic character. The bed was comfortable, the mountain view from the window was beautiful, and the fresh air and peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax. I loved waking up to birds singing and the gentle rhythm of local life. The location is very convenient, right in the heart of the old town, with the main square, cafés, and restaurants all within walking distance. The rooftop offers stunning views of Chefchaouen and the surrounding mountains. It became my favorite place to enjoy food, practice yoga, meditate, write postcards, and watch the sunset unfold over the blue town. The family are artists, and their handmade artwork gives the house a unique and authentic charm. Said, the owner, is a kind and welcoming gentleman, and the whole family made me feel at home with their warmth and generosity. One of my favorite stays in Morocco, and I would happily return.

Very well situated right in the old town, beautiful view from the rooftop terrace and enough chairs and tables to sit there very comfortably - already for the beautiful rooftop the hostel is worth going there. Nice typical old house of the old town but in quite good conditions. New blankets and comfortable bed. Everything is clean. Shower and toilet are separate rooms which I appreciated a lot (no wet floor in the toilet!) The owner, Said, is a very nice, hospitable and welcoming calm person who helps with everything you need. Very pleasant host. All in all a very good experience. The rooms have a slight smell of cigarette smoke as I think they also have smokers rooms available. But it is ok, not too much smell of smoke - even for me as a non-smoker it was completely ok.
