“Despite some issues with the room, our stay was pleasant.”

The breakfast was very good, the service was good except for our first morning there. It seemed like they were short staffed after a weekend wedding and the wait staff seemed very stressed. Also they did not have hot tea which was a big disappointment since I don't drink coffee.

We liked being up on the hill and looking out at everything. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We loved our evening bar tender (Michigan). He was a hoot and the food was generous and very good. We also enjoyed hanging out at the pool and relaxing.

I did not have access to the first room i was allocated. The location of my room was a bit far to walk from.

“The rooms at the Castle are significantly less desirable than those at the Hilltop Villa.”

The room was slightly disappointing. The bathroom was extremely small; there was no room between the toilet and the door. The mini kitchen was very small. Housekeeping is still operating with COVID protocols in spite of the decreased threat level; linens and towels were not changed daily and the towels were stained. The rooms on the castle side require carrying luggage up flights of stairs. The view was less than desirable with views of the highway.

The room was spacious and very clean with an amazing view. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Grounds kept amazingly well. My overall experience was very exceptional. Second time at this location, and I hope to return in the future.

PROS: Spacious/clean/updated room; friendly and helpful staff; the little convenience store on-site with sandwich and coffee shop; city views; on-site restaurant and bar; easy to call taxis; centrally located.

The location was up a steep hill -- fine to walk down to town but walking up was a little tough! Jackie checked us in and she was very nice. Teven the bell guy was great! Our room was not ready for check in as we arrived early but Teven held our bags for us while we waited at the pool bar--he also helped us with directions. Bartenders Katie, Whitney and Jamie were great--the drinks were cold and the food was ok. The pool area was nice and had a great view. Our room was very spacious with a balcony and wonderful views of the harbor. The little kitchen area was fully stocked with pots, dishes, silverware, wine opener, coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge--really nice room and employees.
