Subject: Complaint Regarding Unacceptable Stay at West Ashley Inn Dear ashley inn , I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction following my recent stay at your establishment, the West Ashley Inn. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below acceptable standards of hygiene and quality that one would expect from a hotel. Upon arrival, we were met with a room in clearly unsanitary condition: The room had a strong, lingering smell of cigarette smoke, which was both unpleasant and disrespectful to non-smokers. We found cockroaches in the room, a clear sign of poor sanitary management. The bed sheets were stained, with some even having cigarette burn holes. A piece of chewing gum was stuck to the wall, and a beer can had been left in the toilet — clear evidence of negligent, if not nonexistent, cleaning. The pool was visibly dirty and appeared to be poorly maintained. Our room key card kept getting demagnetized, which caused constant inconvenience. Finally, although the room was booked for four people, we were only provided with two towels — which is simply unacceptable. It is inexcusable to offer this level of service, which damages both your hotel’s reputation and the overall experience of your guests. I am therefore requesting a commercial gesture that reflects the inconvenience we endured Such as a refund, and I expect a prompt and professional response from your team. That someone went into the room whe we went out for dinner. The room smelled like Marijuana

Nesrby the Interstate means it is loud until midnight. Fighting in the neighbor root kept us from sleepung until 3 a.m. The hotel is under construction.

They rented out the accommodation to someone else even though I informed them about the late check-in and they confirmed it because of the flights from Europe, it was confirmed that I can pay at the facility and that no advance payment is required. When I arrived at the accommodation around midnight, I was told that my reservation was canceled due to insufficient funds in the account (there was enough money in the account, but as it is in euros, maybe it was insufficient due to taxes or money conversion) they tried to charge and could not (I would definitely pay at the facility with a card in US dollars), and they said that I can pay at the facility, then what will be charged in advance. The excuse was that the reservation was canceled and that they had an increased demand for accommodation due to the Cinco de Mayo holiday. In the middle of the night I had to look for accommodation with a heavy suitcase. I will certainly never go back there again!

Front desk staff very accomodating. I accidentally booked the previous night, she shared with me. They cancelled the reservation but told me to call the 3rd party for a refund. Then, she told me to book a new room online since they had cheaper rates. Very helpful! Room was clean. Very reasonable for Charleston, NC.

The first room smelt of pee, someone had wet the bed. Receptionist offered to swap room, no questions. The second no smoking room reeked of marujuana but no other rooms available so we accepted it. The smell did go eventually. I suppose you can't choose your customers but it was a bit rough and ready. We slept well after getting used to the holes in the sheets.
