“A place like no other”

The location is unique, inside the park with its own trails to explore. The tour we wanted to take fell through and it was actually a blessing because we got to explore the Pousada surroundings on our own pace. I loved to watch the birds, and a magic moment of my holidays was cooling off at the pool and watch the birds close because they didn’t noticed me there. And if you like bird watching, you’re in for a treat. I’d open the Merlin app and it would find at least five birds calling. Once I got eleven! And I saw a pair of red macaws flying by in the last morning. If you’re not a wildlife person, this is not the place for you. The breakfast. What a breakfast! In Italy they have a concept called “Km 0”, when the product is locally made. I would joke the breakfast is “Km 0.0”. One morning I asked for milk for my coffee and the cook explained that she was boiling it because it had just been milked. Best pão-de-queijo from my holidays, and the upside down banana cake cannot be missed. The best watermelon juice I’ve ever had in my life (sorry, grandma!)

“Beautiful Place to Visit”

The Pousada do Parque is a small part of a large eco-farm in Chapada dos Guimarães. The owner, Oswaldo told me that they try to be self-sustaining and nothing toxic is brought in from outside. This means that the fruit and vegetables, the honey and yogurt, and much more is all produced on site. Oswaldo has taken this same care in hiring the people who run the pousada. From the manager, Gabriel, to Greiciane, Renilda, and Alexandre they are lovely, caring people whose help I very much appreciated when I fell ill during my visit.

We loved being located in the park and the surrounding bird life, views and the observatory platform. The onsite restaurant was also excellent as was their attention to sustainbly sourced food and environmentally friendly practices.

“It's ABSOLUTELY the BEST CHOICE!”

Everything was perfect! Absolutely perfect! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Mario at the reception will make you feel at home. The location is the closest you will have to the main attractions. But the Pousada itself IS an attraction. A great and comfortable place where you can watch the local fauna if you pay attention around you. Spare some time to sit outside when the night falls and enjoy a symphony, literally a symphony nature will offer you. As a bonus, a sumptuous bonus, the restaurant will grant you the best food, sustainable food, exquisite meals prepared by the great chef Ale Salgueiro and his talented staff. One of the best meals I had during my trips by far. I even had the chance to experience some of his new experimental dishes, which was absolutely mind-blowing. Leaving Pousada do Parque was almost sad. I felt at home there. But I know it will be a place I will come back as soon as can. If you read complaints about the roads, prices, whatever - remember it's inside the National Park, where city-like improvements are forbidden. I wanted to experience Nature and that's why I was there. It's absolutely great if you are a reasonable and not a professional complainer. 110% positive experience.

for the first time we slept in a nature-lodge in a great landscape in combination with excellent food. Many trails to walk around or just sit and watch the birds flying in. Staff is exceptional friendly, thank you Jeany and Mario and unforgettable what the cook prepared, adorable, also good wine, the best place in Chapada dos Guimaraes. An unpaved road leads you directly to paradise.

Amazing location in the heart of the beautiful nature of the chapada. The stuff is extremely helpful and fulfilled all of our wishes.They also helped us organizing tours, finding competent guides. The location in the middle of the park is fantastic, a warm welcome and a great restaurant, it is a small pousada and it feels very intimate There is a great chef and he created saleads from their own gardens
