The owner, Nikos, was truly amazing in the way he responded before we were there and how he guided us once we were there. The rooms are nice, big and comfortable, with clean bathrooms and exactly how you see them in the pictures. One if the absolute highlight was the simple home made breakfast which was served by Niki himself, in backyard garden. Simple & amazing home made jams, eggs to order, Greek yogurt and pies! The location is perfect with monogram coffee/bar and To Madraki (top rated sea food joint) just across. Would highly highly recommend

Very nice hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and great location, a few minutes walk to the seaside & the old town. Breakfast is served in a beautiful backyard, you have many options to choose from, best breakfast I ever had travelling abroad. Ioannis is a very good, kind host, he gave us many restaurant suggestions which turned out to be perfect. If we visit Crete again, we will definitely stay here. Thanks for everything!

Great accommodation and location. Rooms were clean and tidy. Nikos and Ioannis were great hosts and were happy to recommend things to do and places to eat. I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. The breakfast was also very generous with lots of variety.

“Comfort and convenience and super hosts”

The staff were so helpful, we had a late check in but we were still warmly greeted and our heavy luggages were carried up 2 flights for us. The breakfast, which was included, was delicious and very plentiful, lots of choice and served in a lovely shady courtyard. The location is excellent, in the Old Town, so close to shops and restaurants and only a few minutes walk to the harbour, but accessible to the door by car or taxi, avoiding dragging luggage through the small pedestrian streets. There is a (paid) parking opposite the hotel but we managed to park our rental car outside the door in a free on-road parking space, but this is pot luck. The room was spacious and quiet, the bed comfy and everywhere was very clean. We would definitely book to stay here again.

The breakfast was fantastic though it might be useful to have a written list of options (of which there were a lot!) for those who struggle with English.

We stayed at the Splanza for 4 nights, very, very comfortably. The room was large, clean, quiet and beautiful. The location is just perfect, in the old town but in a quiet area. The waterfront is 2-3 blocks away, the restaurant district is 1 block away and the new town is also close by. There is plenty of street parking around the hotel. We had no problem finding a spot each night/day. The breakfast is another plus. A delicious, fresh, homemade breakfast was served every morning. Ian, Nicos ,thank you so much for taking such good care of us. We will be back soon.

Nicos & Ionnis were welcoming and very helpful. The breakfasts were huge and delicious - no lunch needed! The location is excellent. Room 14 had it's own balcony and steps directly to the breakfast courtyard.
