Perfectly placed, great sea view! It is a beautiful property & the owner is ver knowledgable. There is a fridge in room which is stocked & refilled with soft & alcoholic drinks. Great selection at breakfast from granola, Greek yoghurt, pastries from a local bakery, toast, fresh coffee & eggs of your choice!

From the moment we stepped into the Captain Vasilis Hotel, our host was welcoming, and it soon became clear that we had booked one of those rare hotels right in the heart of Chania, not only within the beautiful old town itself, but also as part of its history. We later discovered that our host was in fact the grandson of the real and famous Captain Vasilis, who once lived in this very house before it was converted into a hotel. Step outside and you are surrounded by excellent restaurants, narrow old passageways and the beautiful old port. We booked the double room with a private terrace, Room 4, which had a stunning view overlooking the old port. Day or night, it was a feast for the eyes. Definitely recommended.

We had a fantastic stay at Captain Vasilis Hotel, a small and charming traditional hotel perfectly located right in the center of the old Venetian Harbour. The location couldn't have been better—everything in the Old Town was just a short and easy walk away, yet the hotel still felt peaceful and welcoming. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully equipped with all the modern comforts we could ask for—an excellent air conditioning system, a well-stocked minibar, a Nespresso machine, and , a modern bathroom with a great shower. The real highlight, though, was the stunning view over the harbour—absolutely magical at sunrise and sunset. Each morning, we enjoyed a traditional breakfast served with warm hospitality. The local yogurt was especially delicious—fresh, creamy, and the perfect way to start the day. Housekeeping kept the room immaculate with daily cleaning, which we really appreciated. Captain Vasilis Hotel truly blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and the friendly atmosphere made us feel right at home.
