The food was delicious. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are big and neat. We enjoyed the free tennis and table tennis. The Nest is near all the top attractions in the vicinity. The mountains all around the Nest with birds, flowers and palm trees are magnificent!

“Countryside charm with a mountain view”

The staff were very warm and friendly. Breakfast was good. The room was spacious and the view of the mountains from the patio was beautiful. Close to amenities and easy access from the R600. It's especially convenient if you booked a hot air balloon ride as Berg Air Lifestyle centre is just a few minutes away. Great for a peaceful and tranquil little getaway.

Location was good and travel from N3 to resort had good tar roads. Food was ok. Staff were the best very friendly. Electric blankets worked very well.

Lovely views, very steep staircase for kids. Water took too long to get hot. Food was okay, but I expected more value for money.

THE traditional rondavel was quite cosy once we had settled in (and got the underfloor heating working). Views form bar / restaurant area spectacular. Location good for exploriing Champagne valley.

I’m extremely disappointed with my stay at The Nest Drakensberg. The rondavel rooms were poorly maintained and clearly not up to standard. The bathtub was stained yellow, which was very off-putting and made the place feel unhygienic. On top of that, we had to wait 15–20 minutes just to get hot water, which is unacceptable for a place that markets itself as a getaway destination. There were also no activities available on the premises, leaving us with very little to do during our stay. The food was another major letdown — poor quality and far from enjoyable. Overall, the experience was so bad that we decided to cut our stay short and leave a day early to book into another resort. The lack of maintenance and attention to basic standards made this a very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend staying here.

The security guard at the gate is extremely friendly. The food at the restaurant (supper and breakfast) was good.

I was very humbled to get a takeaway from the hotel because I know in every hotel that if you are going somewhere and miss breakfast is your own problem. But to my surprise in The Nest I was given a takeaway.
