We had a really lovely stay. Paul was there to meet us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. The room felt very private and there was plenty of parking, which made things easy. After a long day of travelling it was such a nice surprise to find homemade cakes, along with a baguette, butter, cheese, tea and coffee waiting for us, a really thoughtful touch. The room itself was beautifully presented and very clean. We honestly couldn’t fault anything. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water and the apartment was split between two floors which gave ample room. Paul also recommended some local restaurants and things to do nearby, which was really helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful duplex apartment with lots of space upstairs and downstairs. Kitchen is well equipped and there was a welcome pack with bread, butter, cheese and home baked cakes. The bed is very comfortable and the shower powerful and hot. Paul and Anne were really welcoming and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We stayed at La Maronniere it was a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, located in a quiet village of Challignac in the Poitou-Charentes region. The hosts were very kind and allowed us an early check-in. Upon arrival, we found a warm welcome with fresh baguette, muffins, cheese, butter, and chilled water in the fridge. The apartment was clean, cozy, and well-equipped. We loved the spacious shower, the large comfortable bed, and the mix of modern renovation with charming original wooden beams. In the evening, we enjoyed a peaceful walk through the owners’ vineyards and the quiet village. Paul also offers excellent local wine at a great price. Great value for money, peaceful atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!

We were in a gite which was absolutely outstanding. We travel all across France for work and stay in 50+ gites/b&b complex and La Maronniere is up there with the best. The hosts are discreet, yet available whenever needed and made us feel very welcome indeed.

Wonderfully equipped and furnished gite in the grounds of a beautiful former wine chateau. We loved the area - peaceful and quiet with a number of little villages to visit. Paul and Ann were the perfect hosts. They met us on our arrival and gave us a tour of the estate and Suggestions of places to see. We went to the nearby small family Cognac distillery, Conte & Filles, run by two sisters where we given a very informative and personal tour followed by a tasting of their fabulous cognac.

Amazing property in beautiful village, Paul & Anne were kid and helpful, and stocked up us with local goodies! A little off the beaten track but they were so helpful with directions and recommendations. Our duplex was pristine and mega comfy. Couldn’t recommend more 10/10

This is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a serene, peaceful, and exquisite place to stay, surrounded by nature and fresh air, this is the perfect spot. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need, combining authentic historical surroundings with modern, high-quality finishes. The highlight is the bedroom, featuring perfectly restored centuries-old beams and the most comfortable bed I've slept on in weeks. It's the best mattress I've encountered on my many trips.
