Hostal La Minga is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Chaitén, where guests can make the most of its private beach area and garden. Located in a quiet place, a few minutes away from the beach where we could see the sunset and sea lions swimming. Had an interesting chat with the owner Klaus, and with the other guests who had dinner there. Klaus cooks delicious food for dinner, I’d recommend having dinner with him.

“Nice place in a beautiful setting.”
Unusual and interesting place which felt like the middle of the countryside but was actually just a few kilometres outside of town. It’s largely heated by solar panels and the owners are very keen to keep things sustainable. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

“Perfect stay south bound after the ferry trip”
I arrived very late,.at midnight. This was no problem for Klaus. I eas waiting for me. All the communication and information beforehand was very helpful.

A lovely secluded place that is a short drive out of Chaiten. Klaus and his wife seem to be quite conscious about sustainability. Many items at breakfast and dinner were homemade which was delicious. I was in a twin room at the back of the house which was comfortable.

Great location. A bit remote but if you have a car this is not at all a problem. It is very close to the beach which is very nice as you can walk there in just a few minutes. The accomodation is very clean and nice and has super comfy beds. On top there is a very friendly hosts who is very supportive if you need anything at all. Great place to stay. We can only recommend it.

“Great hospitality and cozy atmosphere!”
We had a wonderful 3-day stay in the accommodation of Klaus and his wife Marcella. We enjoyed fantastic meals in the evenings and rich breakfasts with homemade bread in the mornings. The location is great for visiting Pumalín Park. Klaus also had great tips for the park itself and our subsequent stay on Chiloe. Many thanks for these unforgettable days!

Perfect accommodation where you should definitely spend a night when you are in Chaiten! Owner Klaus has created a wonderful oasis where you can only feel at home (sunset by the sea included + delicious breakfast).

“This place is very special!”
Beautiful guesthouse in a beautiful remote location. Gorgeous sunsets on the beach with views of mountains and sea lions playing. Very peaceful. Klaus and Marcela are wonderful hosts. They are kind and very attentive. Excellent food for breakfast and dinner. Can't have asked for anything more.

Great dinners served by hosts and the time they have us talking about the area and the country. We got a lot of tips on what to see. Klaus and his partner are very easy going and accommodating. A nice warm place. Short walk to the beach to watch the sunset

“Are you looking for eco-friendly accommodation? Then go here.”
Keep in mind that this is an ecological accommodation. This means that the rooms are simply furnished, small and unheated. The common dining and lounge area is heated and warm, leave the door to your room open to warm it up a little. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is a bit remote, so bring whatever you need with you. Still there is good internet but no phone connection.

“Comfortable and welcoming”
We stayed in a lovely brand new cabin close to the Ruta 7. We got a night ferry, so we only arrived at 2345, but we were warmly by Klaus. The cabana is very comfortable and warm and we had an excellent nights sleep. We had a super breakfast in the morning and were on our way down the Carretera Austral. A special place to stay

This place is a real gem. It is surrounded by trees but still close to the town by car. We felt really welcome since Klaus and his wife are great hosts. They built the place on their own and there must have gone a lot of passion into this project. The living room is super cozy, breakfast and dinner were homemade and excellent. Klaus also gave us recommendations for hikes and activites nearby.

Arriving at Hostal La Minga after a long journey over unpaved roads and a delayed ferry felt like coming home. Klaus is a very friendly host who has many useful tips to share about things to do in the surrounding area. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Klaus serves a delicious breakfast with the best coffee I've had in Chile and also offers dinner if you want it.

Claus was so friendly and helpful. The lovely shared sitting dining area was a real asset. The food was home prepared with love and care. I would return if I got chance.
