I really loved the authentic vibe of the hostel. It feels very real, very connected to the spirit of Chachapoyas. For me, it is the best place to learn about the local culture. The environment is beautiful and relaxed, perfect for sharing experiences with other travelers. Also, the beds are very comfortable and everything was always clean. And Toffee… mamma mia, the best! Always ready for a good conversation about Chachapoyas culture, making you feel welcome like at home.

“convenient location”

you live with a hospitable family in their home. there is a board on the wall with useful informations about various trips in the area. the beds are clean and comfortable. the hostel is located conveniently close to the bus station with overnight buses to chiclayo (transport chiclayo and civa) an trujillo (movilbus) and in walking distance to the center. very cheap!

“Chachapoyas Hostel experience”

Chachapoyas culture in general is amazing, really authentic Hostel experience, Horus is really adorable,AMO The kitchen, hot showers, the hosts are very helpful. It is not luxurious but It is better.

“Great hosts and a super cheap stay!”

Tofi and his mum Adela are great hosts, so kind and helpful, always available to answer questions and give advice. Tofi even went with us to a great local restaurant which we would also recommend. We were very grateful for his help also in finding us a second hand camera and even going with us to meet the seller which was really nice of him. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, cheap laundry service and a decent kitchen with a coffee machine.

Toffi was such a great host! Super inclusive + accommodating. A great man to make a tasty Pisco Sour!

It was very nice to stay at the hostel. I had great conversations! Chachapoyas is a very cute and beautiful town to visit, and there is a lot to do around Chachapoyas. If you have any questions, you can find your answers during your stay in the hostel.

“Excellent place!”

The place is more like a family house than a hostel, which was in my case a very good thing. Tofi, the owner is an excellent person, genuine, generous, kind, and always smiley and willing to help. The breakfasts are excellent. The kitchen is very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. Wifi is excellent. There is some space on the terrace.

“Real, welcoming home in Chachapoyas”

I came to Chachapoyas for 2 days and stayed for 9, which was hugely because of the amazing atmosphere in the hostel. Miguel and Teofil, two brothers running the place are the best hosts I’ve ever met on my travels - very welcoming, hospitable, with great knowledge about the area, history and culture of Chachapoyas and what and how to do during your stay (and they speak english well). The hostel is clean, has a great terrace, rooms are spacious and with single (not bunk) beds. Equipped kitchen, hot water in the showers and delicious breakfast with coffee. If I have a chance to come back to Chachapoyas I will surely stay in Trotamundos.
