“A lovely characterful house in a great location for exploring the area.”

We had 4 nights stay at Casa San Ferrante in Celano, which is a perfect location for visiting the Roman ruins of Alba Fucens with its amphitheatre, also within easy drive is Le Gole di Celano, a beautiful gorge walk. The town of Celano itself is also a gem because of its 13th Century castle, Piccolomini, with its museum within the castle walls to wander through as well. Casa San Ferrante is a lovely house which you can see has been a much loved home. It was lovely and clean and we didn't have to clean any of the kitchen utensils before use, as has been the case with other places we have stayed. The details don't really sell this property fully as it has two bathrooms, one on the upper ground floor in the living space and one on the lower, where the bedrooms are; two fans one of which is a air cooler fan, which was useful this week! there is a dishwasher, two dining tables and chairs, one set of which is in a huge room with a wide view over the town to the Avezzano plains. Most of the windows have mosquito nets, and a small balcony to the side off the dining room is pleasant. Parking is ok, as you can park near to the house, in the road.
