Breakfast very good, especially the fresh fruit, also the unlimited tea and coffee. I really appreciated the fresh mint for my mint tea.Good location for getting into town. I had difficulty finding Rodeen the first time - another direction sign further along the little road up would be very helpful.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Rodeen House. Phillippe and Sophie were great hosts, showing a genuine interest in my daily activities. The room was perfect for me with a lovely view of the harbour. The property is just outside the town in a very attractive location. The gardens are nice and relaxing for sitting out or having a short stroll. I enjoyed the breakfast too....honey from the local hive was good indeed. And the afternoon homemade cake was a lovely touch. Highly recommended!!

Rodeen House was a great find. We had a small apartment at one end of the house with its own entrance and some facilities for preparing/heating food. The owners, Philip and Sophie, were great hosts and made us feel very welcome (Philip is a wealth of information from walks and swims to fishing and eating out). Breakfast was a real treat - a proper continental breakfast, with all the trimmings. The position of the house is on a hill with views over Castletownbere and the water and if the weather is inclement there is a lounge with views (and cake!). The gardens are well kept and make a pleasant stroll to explore the plantings. We stayed in late April.

It’s in beautiful location run by a very professional, friendly and obliging couple. The property is impeccable with great views. There was nothing not to like about it. I think it was first BnB in which I stayed to supply freshly ground coffee and plunger in the rooms. A selections of Teas/Coffee and cake was also available in communal living room. Their Continental breakfast included freshly squeezed orange, a selection of cheese, meats, cereals and yogurt.

I loved my stay with Sophie and Phillipe in Rodeen Country House .From the very first minute to the last of my stay everything was perfect.My room was very clean comfortable also nice and cosy.The breakfast was lovely,fresh and plentiful with beautiful home made cakes fresh coffee fresh juice and everything i needed to set me up for the new day.There is a large lovely lounge room to sit in and relax and if you like meet other guests.Phillippe and Sophle have alot of local knowledge and are very helpful to advise on things to do and where to go. I really enjoyed my stay and felt like I stayed with my own family.

Quiet, clean, comfortable, well equipped and surrounded by a lovely garden. Self contained apartment within the main house. Hosts, Philippe and Sophie were so friendly, informative and fun. Philippe’s recommendations became the focus of our days- we wouldn’t have discovered the wonderful walks without his suggestions . This is so much more than a regular B and B. Breakfasts are lovely with lots of variety- home baking, great fresh coffee and honey from Philippe’s own Busy Bees !!

Our hosts made us really welcome - sharing their knowledge of the area and making sure that we got the most out of our stay on the peninsula. The ‘continental’ breakfast they put on each morning was so much more than that - with homemade treats and no chance of leaving the table hungry. We slept brilliantly at Rodeen Country House - fresh air, tranquil location, and comfy bed all working together in equal measure. Access to the garden, for taking in the views and the peace was a nice additional benefit
