“Great break away in a lovely place in a lovely town.”
No breakfast included. A variety of teas and plunger coffee available. It probably was walking distance to the town centre but as our visit was during a heat wave we didn't attempt this. The aircons were wonderful with 3 days over 35 degrees. We enjoyed all the paintings, sketches and the rest of the decor.

“Beautiful room in quiet location”
We had a lovely stay at Goldenray. The whole place is beautifully decorated including our room, The Library, complete with vintage books. Dee was very responsive and helpful. The shared bathroom was immaculately clean and very well appointed. The walk into the centre of town was about 20 minutes, which we enjoyed, and the location is extremely quiet.

“A beautiful house on a quiet street.”
Beautiful room with a very comfortable bed. We were very fortunate to be the only ones staying so didn't even have to share the bathroom, which is also beautifully appointed.

“Disappointed with the owner in the house as well, could not relax, having people over as well”
VERY DISAPPOINTED Nothing. We were expecting the house to ourselves but no the owner was living there as well. Very disappointed with that. No lounge and kitchen to use if you wanted to sit and relax but instead you had hard chairs to sit on. The owner could of been a bit more friendly towards guests by introducing herself and answering her phone. The third bedroom was locked because it was most probably her room to use when no guests are there. Uncomfortable with the owner staying in the house as well. A bit awkward if the 2 rooms had different people staying in them and sharing the house or lack of house area. Overall a very disappointing 2 days. Would not recommend to anyone else to stay. The owner could tell the booking site she is staying there with the guests.

Bathroom , although it was shared , was new , clean and luxurious Bed was very comfortable Room was atmospheric but a little 'twee' .

“I was rushing about in a classic car on a rally and Goldenray was a lovely luxurious bit of piece of quiet to come back”
It was perfectly located for my stay. The house and room was beautiful with a luxurious bed and gorgeous furniture. Real coffee and filtered water in the fridge were a really nice touch.

Serene, incredibly well appointed and in a great location. Just what I needed for a relaxing weekend. Loved it and will be back for sure.
