We were unable to cook and use the pan was completely in a terrible state and gone. Rest was excellent.

“We had a wonderful stay in Helens Self Catering for our weekend in Mayo.”

We had a lovely stay in Mayo in Helens Self Catering. Our host met us and very kindly showed us the house and chatted with us. The house was lovely with spectacular views. Really nice snacks on arrival, which the kids promptly devoured after the long drive. The house was just 10 mins outside of where we were going out for the evening in Castlebar, so it was so convenient. And a lovely breakfast was left ready for us that we enjoyed very much the next morning, before hitting the road again. Our stay in Helens Self Catering has left a lasting good impression with us and we appreciate the thoughtfulness and kindness from our hosts.

It's a home away from home, very comfortable and warm. The Christmas tree was beautiful. The kids loved it. Majella started the fireplace and helped us settle in well. Thanks to the amazing host.

This property had everything we wanted! The hospitality was 10/10. There was a very homely feel with the fire on and breakfast in the fridge with tea/coffee provided! Majella was extremely helpful even gave us a lift into town which we really appreciated. She also catered to early check in at 2pm. I would 100% recommend and only 15 mins outside Castlebar. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Had a wonderful time here. We were going to a wedding at Breaffy House and Majella kindly dropped us over to Breaffy and let us drop off our bags before the check in time. The beds were comfortable, the house was lovely and warm and the supplies in the fridge to cook a fry in the morning were very appreciated. Would definitely stay again !

Lovely area, stunning view. Very welcoming host. The place was spacious and clean, and the host provided everything at our disposal, very accommodating. We will definitely be revisiting in the future. We highly recommend it.

Oh my God, one of the most beautiful and magnificent accommodations in the Castlebar area! The owner lived next door, so he was very accommodating to our arrival, and even came out to drive us to the apartment, which can be useful for inexperienced drivers due to the small roads. The house itself is stately, in a very pleasant environment, with a huge kitchen, living rooms, fireplace, it can enchant those who come there at any time of the year!

Great peaceful location set among rolling farms with views to the mountains including Croagh Patrick. Comfy and spacious home with everything we needed for our three nights stay. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals in. Large yard and car parking space as well as private outdoor seating area. Hosts live on the property too, but places felt very separate and private. Hosts were responsive and helpful. Check in and out were easy. Breakfast supplies were appreciated. Would recommend.

Everything. The house was spotless and comfortable and had everything we could need. Majella welcomed us & made sure we knew she was around if we needed anything (which we didn’t because everything was covered). When she said breakfast would be in we expected maybe cereal, milk, a few tea bags. But there was the making of a full Irish in the fridge! Location was perfect for Castlebar & Westport and we had the perfect base to come back & relax in after climbing Croagh Patrick. We will definitely be back.
