Simona, Frederico and their son were absolutely delightful - the perfect hosts. Simona (who speaks perfect English) was there for any advice and help, which she offered graciously and willingly. At the same time they were discreet and happy to let you get on and enjoy your holiday. The facilities are brilliant - the pool area is lovely & spacious (lots of loungers & outdoor shower), the BBQ and communal space is exceptional - every possible gadget and gizmo you could wish for. We opted to use the communal kitchen and BBQ area most nights we were the only ones using the facilities and sat and enjoyed amazing sunsets across the valley. The location of the property is brilliant. Close to Citta della Pieve and the A1 for exploring, the lake and Perugia too. We know the area pretty well but ventured out to some great new places, including the Lamborghini vineyard. We love Cortona and enjoyed a day there, took the ferry to Isola Maggiore and also enjoyed the outdoor cinema at Castiglione del Lago. There are literally loads of supermarkets, restaurants and pizzerias nearby, including some supermarkets which stay open on Sunday into the evening - v useful. We stayed 10 nights in a 2 bed, 2 bathroom apartment, which was very clean and had everything we could wish for....apart from our own outside terrace. That said, there was a shared terrace space outside our door and we did use it from time to time, and it wasn't an issue at all. We made some lovely friends whilst we were there. Each apartment is private and there is no feeling of encroachment, but we found that we did actually visit our new friends in their apartment and ate on their terrace one night! There was a mix of lots of different nationalities when we were there; Italians, Belgians, Swiss, Germans and Australians. There is the option to mix socially if you wish, but no problem if not. We normally keep ourselves to ourselves but chose to mix and I'm delighted we did, it made our holiday.
