Overview
Conte Gherardo is a historic Tuscan country house, 350 metres from the SS1 Aurelia motorway, Donoratico exit. Parking is free and the beach of Marina di Castagneto Carducci is nearby. Rooms at Podere Conte Gherardo feature antique furnishings, terracotta floors, and a private bathroom with shower and toiletries. All rooms have air conditioning and heating, and breakfast includes homemade pastries. The Conte Gherardo is a former noble residence built in 1886. It is set in its private park, with Mediterranean plants and outdoor swimming pool.

“A little slice of paradise!”
A wonderful, peaceful spot - our room was beautifully decorated and there was lots of interesting homemade art around the common areas too. Pool area was very quiet and relaxing with comfy sunbeds, and breakfast was fantastic. Well located a short drive from the seafront restaurants etc (it would be walkable too) and very near a popular theme park for those with kids. We would've loved to stay longer!

The atmosphere was amazing just really close to the beach and seemed in the middle of nowhere at the same time. Great distance from the town and easy to reach from the highways. Rooms were great and so comfy. Swimming pool like a dream.

“Beautiful vacation resort for families with dogs to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Tuscany!”
Very spacious, well-maintained complex with great vegetation. Charmingly furnished apartments in a subtle Mediterranean style. Very nice, large pool, which was almost always empty in the off-season as the water was very fresh. Very well organized car parking place. A washing machine that works by chip insertion (buy at reception). The entire complex is very dog-friendly! The breakfast for 12 euros is of very good quality, but has a limited selection. The location of the Podere Conte is great for excursions in the surrounding area: Castagneto Carducci (charming mountain village) and Bolgheri (great food and wine). A trip to beautiful Lucca is about 1 hour away and is definitely worthwhile.

“A relaxing stay in Tuscany”
Breakfast was very good, plenty of salty and sweet choices, all home made, marmelade, cheese, bruschette , juices etc. Eggs made to your choice on the spots, nice coffee. The garden is kept very well, it is very large and beautiful, lots of nice trees, it is a pleasure to walk around. The pool is large and well kept, clean, lots of gazebos and trees to stay in the shade, if you like. Excellent to relax around the pool and read a book

The breakfast was very good. Plenty to eat. Fresh coffee and lots to choose, with a hot option of eggs. It is a quiet and tranquil location. Plenty of sunbeds and shade with an equally inviting pool.

Excellent service, very good breakfast. The park and the swimming pool are really nice. The service staff ran the extra mile to book us a Restaurant on a Saturday night when everything in the area seemed to be booked
