Overview
Located a 5-minute drive the centre of Altkirch, Auberge Sundgovienne offers a garden, terrace and elevator. Basel, where the French, Swiss and German borders cross is just a 35-minute drive away. All rooms are air-conditioned and feature a TV, minibar, safety deposit box and a wardrobe, while some also include a separate seating area. The en suite bathroom includes a shower or bathtub and free toiletries. A buffet breakfast is offered at the hotel. Regional dishes made with fresh produce are available in the restaurant and are served inside or on the terrace. The restaurant is open from Tuesday evening to Saturday evening, and guests can also enjoy a drink in the hotel’s bar. “Highly recommended!”
Big and clean rooms. Automatic shatters which darken the room entirely. Soundproof. Excellent food. Electric vehicle charging for both Tesla and other brands.

“Comfy place to stay in Alsace”
Hotel is easy to find with ample parking plus charging stations. Room was a good size with separate bathroom and toilet (as is usual in France!). Quiet position at the rear of the hotel and looked as if there were good areas for walking. We only stayed overnight and did not have breakfast, but the restaurant looked good. Staff were helpful regarding places to eat and visit nearby.

“An excellent auberge for an overnight stay.”
The auberge was in the perfect place for our route. We had a big clean room overlooking the garden, perfect for an overnight stay. The restaurant was exceptionally good. The meal was one of the best we had, absolutely delicious and the staff were excellent, charming and efficient.

“We had a relaxing one night stay.”
Excellent breakfast choices and the hot chocolate was the best I’ve had in a long time. Room was spacious and well designed. Loved the garden surrounding the property. The restaurant meal in the evening was fabulous too. Would definitely return if we are ever travelling that way again.

Beautiful hotel set in beautiful gardens. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The thing that really sets this hotel apart from many others is the culinary experience offered. The food is superb.
