Excellent base for exploring the many small villages surrounding Carpentras. The centre of Carpentras is fully pedestrianised and has a good mix of unique shops and restaurants. If you are a keen cyclist then there is no harder challenge than climbing Mount Ventoux from Bedoin. If you are slightly crazy then why not try cycling up the three sides of the mountain, it will be a day to remember for sure. Then get away from the two wheelers and relax back at the apartment in the plunge pool. Jean Philippe and Franke are perfect hosts and are always on hand, when required, to enhance your experience of the area. For the wine lovers there are a multitude of small vineyard's close by. Also, as mad as it may sound take a trip into the tourist office and walk through the back where you will find a rare mix of local wines and produce for sale. The guy looking after that area has a great knowledge of the local growers and can provide tasters of the wines on sale. It's the best 30 min I have spent in a tourist office. It's a must.
