I have to echo others' comments about the staff; they are kind, professional, helpful, hard-working, willing to answer any question, efficient and knowledgeable, really above and beyond. Breakfasts were delicious with healthy options like a lovely fruit salad. We asked about borrowing bikes the first day and they were instantly provided. (The bikes are okay for short trips in town but we rented different bikes nearby to go outside town.) Our first room (standard), looked out onto neighbouring properties that weren't especially scenic, so we asked to change to a room in the front, overlooking the river. It was small, with room for the bed and space to walk around it, but had a nice little balcony to enjoy the river view. The public areas are very nice with comfortable seating, pleasant decor, and a welcoming home-like atmosphere.

Beautiful hotel, very clean, lovely room, really comfortable bed and great staff, would definitely recommend. They picked us up from the restaurant when we couldn’t get a taxi which was really appreciated.

Room was spacious. Very comfortable king size bed. Very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, and they offer to make scrambled eggs, which is not that usual in Uruguay. Complimentary coffee available throughout the day. Communal areas are pleasant and comfortable to relax in, overall the hotel decor is lovely. Good location, Carmelo is small so everything is walking distance in the town, with many wineries a very short drive or taxi ride away.
