Secure parking, great central location, everyone was very welcoming and helpful whenever we needed anything; rooms were very clean, breakfast was always fresh and its service was always right on time; our room was very spacious, bright, quiet, just beautiful! We loved everything about our stay and hope to be back in future!

Extremely disappointing stay — not reflective of a 4‑star hotel We travelled from Australia to experience Carmel and chose the Carriage Inn based on its advertised 4‑star standard. Unfortunately, the stay did not meet that standard in several key areas. Booking & Customer Service: We attempted to adjust our reservation and received no cooperation or meaningful communication from management. We were repeatedly referred to inflexible policies, with staff stating that management does not make exceptions under any circumstances. As a result, we paid for two nights but stayed only one.

Nice rooms, very spacious. Loved that breakfast in the room was included. Great stay all around!

The Carriage house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served in your room every morning which was delightful. Snacks and water are replenished every day and are included in the price. There is a complimentary wine tasting every evening 5-6pm served alongside some snacks. Ample secure parking is included in the cost. All the staff we encountered on our 5 night stay were lovely and very helpful. The location is perfect just a stones throw away from the restaurants and shops. We ate at the mission ranch and the mission bistro both nice places our favourite was the pacific edge restaurant fab food and service with a sunset view to die for. We also ate at the Greek place Dametra, the food resembled that of a Saturday night kebab in the UK if that is your thing then expect to pay $100 for two chicken kebabs!!! Disappointing from our perspective. We enjoyed the 17 mile drive, whale watching in Monterey, 6 mile hike around lobos point and a little retail therapy and fairytale cottage spotting in Carmel by the Sea.

The staff are absolutely lovely and so welcoming, especially Michelle at the front desk. The included breakfast which is delivered to your room and the daily happy hour are highlights.

The location was excellent, right in the center of Carmel. We arrived by car and could safely park the car in the parking lot. We had a very nice host, the breakfast was great. The happy hours with the glass of wine was a very nice bonus.
