Great hosts, communication and friendliness on arrival. Location was what we were looking for and for a family getaway we enjoyed every minute of being there. Nice touch with the welcome hampers also. Everything was clean and tidy, with a rural homely feel. Good location for getting into Carlingford and going for walks. Quaint local cafe, restaurant and pub round the corner if you are not venturing far.

Great location. Pubs, coffee shops and shops all near and 8 mins drive to Carlingford. So much space in the house for all 10 of us and such a warm welcome from the hosts.

The host provided prosecco on arrival (a nice touch!) and gave us some great recommendations for food/drinks, along with menu for the nearby pub and cafe. The pub, John Longs, was a 2 min walk from the property and great for all the family. All 9 of us (including 2 young children) fitted nicely and the games room was lots of fun. Carlingford town itself was only c.10 mins by car and we were able to see the castle, Irish Folklore park and lots of great places for food and drink while we visited. We will definitely be back!

Riverdale is absolutely stunning – a magical place surrounded by nature that instantly makes you feel at home. The house itself is incredibly spacious, beautifully maintained, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The setting is peaceful and picturesque, with lovely countryside views, and it’s just a short walk to a charming local pub, shop, and café. What made the stay even more special was the warm welcome from the owners – truly lovely and thoughtful people who made us feel right at home. A perfect escape for anyone looking for comfort, space, and a magical setting. Highly recommended!

Riverdale is stunning! A gorgeous house with so much space and beautiful surroundings. Great for the whole family, the games room was a winner! Iggy and Anne were wonderful hosts who couldn’t have been more helpful on arrival and throughout. The local pub and shop are so close by and the house is just a few minutes drive from Carlingford! We will definitely be back, thank you Iggy and Anne!

IGGY met us for keys an tour off house. We all loved his house and had a great time there….have to say IGGY was so nice and made us feel so welcome, even though we didn’t know he lived on site(it wasn’t a problem) John longs bar have to say food was delicious definitely recommend there..tho think they don’t like the youngsters. Sorry to say!! Myself mummy an daddy with dog went and had a great experience ladies couldn’t of been so nicer an the guy? Tho my older children went to have food an they weren’t very nice to them..Maybe take that on board..on last note we had an amazing birthday for my daddy..Thanks IGGY

“Exceptional host and property, highly recommend this for any family or large group.”

The host and the property are exceptional and I highly recommend this property. 5 bedrooms with an ensuite in almost all rooms. The games room which had a pool table and a table tennis table was a big hit with everyone . We asked for the house to be decorated for Christmas and it was tastefully festive including a fab big Christmas tree in the cozy sitting room. The host very generously gifted us a welcome basket with prosecco and flutes, fresh bread, tea bags, eggs, butter, chocolate and biscuits. The house was spotless and scented with festive candles. The host checked in with us several times to provide information about the area and ask if we needed anything else. I couldn’t rate this property and the host any higher, we plan on a return visit in the near future. 10 out of 10 from us all. Thanks so much for all the extra touches it really made our experience one to remember.

“Just what we wanted”

We were a group of 9 - 6 adults and 3 children. The house was very spacious so everybody had their own space. There was a welcome pack of milk, bread, butter, tea, coffee, biscuits and that was a lovely touch. We were also supplied with salt, pepper, washing up liquid, hand wash etc - all the basics. The games room was really great - we had such fun. Host went over and above what you would normally expect even leading the way to the nearby beach. We had Canadian cousins with us and they really hit it off with the host Iggy - he;s even going to look him up when he goes to Canada in October. I usually stay centrally but really enjoyed staying in this location, it is a lovely area and very convenient to get into Carlingford. Loved John Long's pub and the Carlingford Brewery - had never tried them before. Would love to stay again some time in the future.
