Ann and Plyths Homestead was absolutely beautiful and a great escape from the hustle and bustle. They were both very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much hassle. Breakfast in the morning was an absolute treat and the room/bathroom we had was a great size with a super comfy bed. Would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to any friends and family travelling through the area. Thanks again for having us. 🌸

“Awesome and Amazing!”

Homely feel and welcoming host, and only 2.2 kms to the pub! A wood fire was burning when we arrived returned from pub and woke in the morning. The lounge was welcoming. Comfortable bed, scrumptious breakfast, amazing location with beautiful views over the mountains. Thank you Blythe for making the first day of our holiday so memorable!

We loved everything! From the moment we arrived , driving up the tree lined driveway, we were treated like long lost friends by Blyth as he came to greet us. The room we had was beautiful. Our bed was so comfotable. Breakfast was such a treat and we looked forward to it each day. Such a treat to one’s senses! The guest lounge was heated with a log fire that Blyth ensured was constantly kept burning. The lounge was very welcoming and cozy and looked out onto beautiful gardens with a bubbling stream. You can spot some sheep next door too. Blyth is a wonderful host and a great conversationalist. A life well lived and very interesting. We loved coming “home” each night to the crackling fire, coffee and biscuits and enjoy the homestead. Looking into the starry nights! We can honestly say that we have never stayed in a place that we wished we could stay longer and were sad to leave. Excellent value!

“Fantastic property, location and host.”

This is an exceptional property. A real home from home. Beautiful bedroom and the lounge for the use of residents was superb. Log burner was on so it was really cosy. We only stayed one night then had three in a top quality hotel In Queenstown. On reflection we should have split it, two and two and did the distillery and dinner at the Cardrona hotel. Blyth is such a nice guy and very sociable. He does the best poached eggs in NZ! I have since returned to Scotland but my daughter stays in Wellington. She and her soon husband to be, a Kiwi, intend staying at the Homestead later this year.

The owner takes good care of every corner of the house. It is quiet, comfortable, with good air, and you can see the snowy mountains outside the house. The key is the bed in the room, as if sleeping in the clouds.

Lovely location in the Cadrona Valley. We were in the small cottage adjacent to the main house. The cottage is self contained and has everything you need in the kitchen.

Very happy! The house is run by a couple, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoying a retirement-like life in a warm home. At night, you can see the starry sky and the Milky Way very clearly! In the morning during breakfast, everyone sits together sharing interesting stories from New Zealand, like a harmonious family! Everything is perfect! Thank you!

Was beautiful property and so quiet . Owners were lovely , everything was just well done , and very comfortable

“Ann is a super host and cool (no abnormal restrictions only the normal don’t smoke and don’t party loud).”

We had the cabin on our own and the hot tub was available anytime (on other stays there were restrictions like not after 18.00 hour and that is when you come home at the end of the day). Even our laundry was washed! (Very important as we were more than 30 days on the road).

Beautiful tranquil setting and gorgeous property. Ann and Blyth were very gracious hosts in what is really a 5-star guesthouse rather than a hotel, in the best sense of being made very welcome. Delicious breakfast and good to have pool and hot tub.

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Waiorau Homestead . The host showed excellent hospitality from start to finish and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The room was spotless and very well maintained, with beautiful and unique decor that gave the place a lot of character. It was also very quiet and private, which made it perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and a lovely touch in the morning. We especially enjoyed spending time in the beautiful garden, it’s clearly cared for with love and adds so much charm to the property. Overall, a fantastic experience and we would happily stay again.
