Stayed at this hotel with family and friends while in the area for a family wedding. Amazing hotel with a nice history and the staff couldn’t have been any more friendly or accommodating! Would happily return.

El Dorado has a charm that goes back to the elegant days of the 50’s//60’s - there’s a great film history with original artefacts from famous films, used for the decor in the hotel and you can imagine the ‘greats’ staying there, back in the day. The setting is right on the beach and the walk along the promenade is wonderful, great restaurants and cafes - Carboneras is a hidden little gem, very Spanish - the area where the hotel is situated, has the most amazing art deco buildings - it’s really beautiful. I love it. I might say it’s a little tired but this doesn’t detract from its charm - I’m going back definitely.

Location of the hotel was amazing. The views from our room were exceptional. The hotel is very quirky and quite old with lots of interesting memorabilia. Our room was huge with separate living room and three outside private areas. Access to the beach took literally less than a minute. Lovely swimming pool right outside our room. The hotel salon is absolutely charming, probably not changed since it was built. Staff were very friendly and made us feel so welcome with our huge dog.

It’s a real gem! We absolutely loved it for its unique character and wonderful customer service. The secluded beach with a gorgeous view, the spacious room, the beautiful terrace with a lovely swimming pool - everything was just right. The lovely receptionist made us feel very welcome and was really helpful. There’s a supermarket just a few minutes away and the town centre is a short walk away from the hotel. Couldn’t recommend it more!

We would have enjoyed our stay better if the proprietor was amenable as he was abrupt and curt at times and said " He was sorry but he didn't have time for me when asking for a drink one day and when I informed him that the drinks bill on check out was incorrect he got very aggressive screwing up my bar bill and throwing it with force at his bin. Ok he had a lot on his plate one day as he had 15 rooms to book in, but that's what he's there for. (So get more staff in to help) We have been there a few times and never had this problem before. I personally won't be going there again.

We booked a room with seaview which was large, clean, good bathroom and a fridge. Location is quiet and superclose to beach, plenty parking space and a large pool. In the old days film actors stayed there and it still has this atmosphere.

Proximity to the sea Fantastic history of the property and gorgeous common areas. The place could easily be a high end boutique hotel if someone could invest in an upgrade. Who doesn’t want to visit where Omar Sharif stayed and look at the location of the Lawrence of Arabia film. I hope the hotel preserves its wonderful artefacts and the old telephone room - old style glamour! Great comfortable beds, good quality sheets and towels - 5* quality
