We absolutely loved the hosts! Bely was a gem of a human nursing me back to health when I was unwell. The property is exactly where you want to be when you fall sick as you have the best views of the Andes, calm and peaceful with no noise at night, kind hosts who truly care about their guests.i have not a bad word to say about this place as it was truly memorable.

Bely and Jorge were amazing hosts! They have a beautiful and private piece of paradise. They were so kind and welcoming - and lots of fun to karaoke with! The food, handcrafted beer, pool, and room were exceptional. Bely was so kind to arrange taxis for hiking, helped us with our laundry, and taught us some Spanish! They have two very cute and friendly dogs (and a cat). Their place is located in a quiet neighbourhood with a river nearby, and is just a short 30m walk to the town centre. Highly recommend staying here!

“Paradise of the north of Peru.”

We never gave 10/10, but here we have to. everything is so lovely arranged and Bely and Jorge took care of us in every possible way. The garden is a paradise and a perfect place to relax after some hard hikes. You will find nothing of that sort in Caraz or Huaraz. On top the self made beer of Jorge is incredible. Tipp: Ask for lomo saltado! muy bueno!! (see the pictures) thank your everything.

“Hands-down the best place to stay”

Absolutely loved our stay! My friend and I felt just like we were at our parents' home—only without the usual barrage of questions and advice, just warm hospitality! Cozy space, super comfy beds, and the food was delicious (shoutout to lomo saltado!). The hosts are such a sweet couple who genuinely cared for us, they such good care of us, even getting up extra early to make breakfast before our departure. Highly recommend!

“A hidden gem!”

Bely and George have created a beautiful serene place where travelers can enjoy nature and relax. Their hospitality is the best we have come across compared to many bed and breakfasts that we have stayed at around the world. The place is exactly like the photos, it was super clean and comfortable (incl. hot water, cozy bed, clean linen, lush greenery, friendly dogs and a hammock). All the amenities one needs are there and the hosts are very welcoming which made the experience memorable. To top it off, George makes excellent beers and Bely provides delicious food incl. breakfast. We stayed for 3 days and would love to come back and stay longer. The location is close to Laguna Paron, Laguna 69 and Santa Cruz trek. This property and the hosts truly deserve 10 star rating.

“A truly wonderful place for the Cordillera Blanca!”

We loved pretty much everything about this place!! It's a bit out of the way, a short tuk tuk ride from Caraz centre but once we were there it was like arriving in an oasis!! Set behind high walls, it's impossible to imagine what lies the other side....a wonderfully landscaped garden with beautiful buildings, only two detached chalets and all set next to the river with views of the snow capped Andes behind.....amazing stuff! Jorge and Belli were the most hospitable of hosts, so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble! They helped us organise our trips up to the mountains and the lakes, fed us well and Jorge even has his own micro brewery (icing on the cake as it were)! They really have a perfect set up here and I can't think of a better place to stay as a location to visit the Cordillera Blanca!! We would go back in a heartbeat!! Thank you Jorge and Belli (and the dogs of course!)

“A perfect stay in a little piece of paradise !”

Of all the places we stayed in Peru (17 in total), this was without a doubt our favorite ! Bely and George welcomed us warmly. They have created a beautiful little slice of paradise in Caraz and this was for us the perfect spot to end our holidays in this amazing country. Bely’s cooking was delicious (we highly recommend the “lomo saltado” ! ) and every morning we had a different kind of breakfast. George made us taste his homemade brews which were great after a day hike. Bely and George helped us organize our day trips to Laguna 69 and Laguna Paròn ! Truly a great experience and a great stay ! The accommodation was confortable, nicely decorated and very clean ! The shower had great pressure and warm water. All in all a perfect stay ! Thank you again Bely and George for your kindness and for your warm welcome ! We will fondly remember our karaoke night and the game of “sapo” ! Gracias para todo !

We had a fantastic stay at Pukayaku lodge in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Belissa and Jorge are such wonderful and welcoming hosts. The food was so delicious and we both enjoyed the home-brewed artesanal beer. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We didn't want to leave!

Truly beautiful place with the best hosts you could possibly ask for. Amazing location right along the river with several hikes accessible directly from the place and yet still walkable or short moto-taxi to town. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and the beer brewed on-site was the best beer you will find in this area.

“Hidden paradise in Caraz”

Pukayaku lodge in Caraz is not what you would expect from a typical lodge, it is a blend between a secluded paradise and a personal invitation to a spectacular private home. Being located right above Caraz and situated close to a mountain river, Pukayaku lodge provides views to both Cordillera negra and Cordillera blanca. Caraz is easily accessible in 20 min by feet or in 5 min with a mototaxi. The room which we had was just fantastic, both breakfast and dinner (optional) were of superb quality. The true highlight of Pukayaku lodge, however, are the owners, Bely and Jorge. Both are very open and friendly, easily accessible for all sorts of questions, truly engaged to make the stay at their house a nice one, constantly providing a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere – taken together, a dream pair of ideal hosts. Thank you, Bely and Jorge, for the wonderful week at Pukayaku lodge.

“One of our favourite guesthouses!”

Pukayaku is one of the best guesthouses we‘ve ever stayed at, with two wonderful, spacious rooms with hammocks and a private patio set in a very lovely garden with stunning mountain views all around. Also, Belissa and Jorge are amazing hosts, who looked after us so we’ll, we felt like visiting friends. They helped us organise transportation, booked restaurants for us, kept our luggage while we hiked the Santa Cruz Trek, helped us plan said trek, and Belissa made the most delicious vegetarian breakfasts for us :-) If you ever come to Caraz, you should definitely stay at Pukayaku! And if you’re wondering - Caraz is a far more convenient starting point for trips to Laguna 69 and the Santa Cruz Trek.

We had the absolute BEST time at Casa Pukayaku. We had originally booked an airbnb in Huaraz on our way to Cordillera Blanca, but were unhappy the way it turned out. We widened our location search and found this gem of a BnB on a mountainside in Caraz. Bely and Jorje were incredibly wonderful hosts (and amazing at karaoke!). The food was excellent, the artisanal beer was delicious, and overall ambiance was a dream. This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking to hike the Cordillera Blanca mountains.
