“A perfect place to rest”

This is a beautiful, restful place on the edge of the town (which is a lovely place but which does have Very Loud Music so it's good to be out of the way.) Carlos and Maricela are both extraordinarily kind and helpful. Maricela cooked wonderful breakfasts until she had to go away to Medellin, and then it turned out that Carlos was just as good as a cook. There are often power cuts in Capurgana, and a storm knocked out the WiFi but such problems were easy to accept at such a comfortable place.

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They even came to pick us up at the harbor when we arrived. The property is very nice and calm!

Maricela and Carlos are the perfect hosts. They react to your every need. Maricela's breakfasts are delicious and change every day. The room is cleaned every day. Carlos will help you with finding tour boats.The garden is gorgeous and well maintained.. We extended by two days as it was so relaxing to swing in the hammock and watch the wildlife. It is a truly authentic experience not to be missed especially if you want to see real village life in action. The solar electricity is a great somution for the night time power cuts.

Beautiful homely touches

Maricela and her husband are the perfect hosts. They gave us a very hartly welcome and helped us in every way possible (planning activities, recommendations, charging phones). The hostal has solar panels and a battery so we could as well enjoy the ventilator during the night. The hostal is at the edge of the town and is quiet. We had a very nice stay here.

“Lovely hotel run by really nice couple”

This is a really nice hotel run by a lovely couple. We had the family room between 4 of us and it was nice and big with comfortable beds. It's a bit of a walk from the port, but it's a really peaceful spot and you're at the trailhead for Sapzurro so really useful if you're doing this hike. They provide juice on arrival and coffee in the morning and you can order breakfast in the morning.

Location was about a 7 min walk from the centre. Arrived and was given fresh mango juice straight away was delish! The owners were so so nice and really enjoyed my stay.

I would 100% recommend staying at this property, despite it being slightly out of the centre of capurgana. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming from the onset, they were constantly attentive and checking up on us throughout the stay. The rooms were very clean and cool.

Portal del sol is such a beautiful place. Would highly recommend to stay here! My room was amazing, they have a beautiful garden, and everything is so clean. As soon as I arrived I felt at home. The woman working there is the most friendly and welcoming. I was planning to stay just one night, and ended up extending again and again. If I ever come back to Capurgana there is no doubt where I will be staying.
