The view from the windows and the terrace is simply breathtaking — mountains, the valley, and a deep sense of silence that invites you to slow down and just be. Every morning began with light and the feeling of being in a truly special place. The village itself is incredibly charming, with narrow streets, white houses, and a peaceful, authentic Andalusian atmosphere. A special thank you to the host — extremely kind, responsive, and genuinely caring about our comfort. We felt like welcomed guests, not just another reservation.

This is a fantastic property overlooking the mountains and just a stone’s throw from all the great places in Capileira. A really nice Spanish feel to the property and the view from the balcony as the sun goes down is beautiful. All the facilities are really good but not so fancy you worry using them. I would highly recommend staying here and enjoying all the walks and beauty Capileira has to offer!

“Nice place to relax and enjoy the mountains”

We spent 4 nights at Casa de Arriba in early March 2025. We enjoyed the place. The terrace with the view of the mountains and the valley is awesome. The kitchen has everything including a nice dishwasher and washing machine. The Wifi is excellent. We did hiking from the apartment toward the ghost village of Cebadilla (a 3-hour loop from the apartment) and visited Trevelez by car. If you have mobility issues, the Casa de Arriba and the village of Capileira are not for you. Parking: Free municipal parking is about 150 meters from the apartment. it is easy to access by car at the entrance of the village. The parking has 2 levels (upper level is not available on Tuesdays for the market and lower level is available 24/7). The are many restaurants within walking distance of the apartment and food stores. In the valley, in my opinion, Capileira is the nice village as compare to Bubion and Pampaneira.

Alicia was welcoming and helpful but we felt our privacy was well respected. The view from the property was just stunning. The accommodation was well equipped and it felt like home. We really enjoyed our time here.

What an incredible view from the balcony! Perfectly located and easy access to eating places and walks. Everything you needed was provided. Easy to checkin as well. Capileira was a perfect starting point for a number of walks and such a beautiful village.

Casa de Arriba is fantastic. The obvious attraction is the private terrace with panoramic views across the barranco de Poqueira and beyond. However the house itself is really attractive and includes a fully equppied kitchen, large bathroom, lots of comfortable seating and dining spaces. There's even a telescope. On arrival there were chilled beers and water waiting in the fridge. Perfect. A brilliant choice of accommadation for almost anyone.

Great host. Very helpful, with the rooms being very clean. Fantastic location with beautiful views down the Valley and a lovely, quaint traditional Spanish village. Lighting in the rooms was great with enough shade to keep cool. Easy parking on the main road, with spaces always avaliable. Overall, amazing place to stay in the Sierra Nevada Park (only 30 min away from the car park for Mulhacen), with lovely views! Would rebook

“Superb traditional house with fantastic views”

The house was brilliant. It had been modernised, but not to the extent that it lost its character. It is a traditional house with uninterrupted view of the Poqueira Valley from the terrace, the huge picture window, and the bedroom. The facilities were faultless - kitchen, lounge, dining room, armchairs in front of the picture window, large terrace, TV, DVDs, etc etc The recommendations of places to eat were excellent - especially Corral del Castano. Also the recommendation for the flamenco evening in the next village was superb. (The path to the next village starts by the house)

Loved this house. It's location is beautiful, extremely peaceful and tranquil. Very private balcony with the most amazing views. The house is super comfortable. Loads of little extras that make it feel like home from home. Our bed was really comfortable. Furniture is of great quality. Every little thing that could be done has been. The contact with Alicia the host was amazing. She answers so promptly and cannot do enough to help you. The area is wonderful for hiking and biking. Or just relaxing and wandering. A absolute gem of a place.

Very cozy apartment with great views of the valley and fully equipped. Everything easy to access and well organized, from the house itself to the check in and departure. Although we had 3 days of heavy rain and relatively cold weather, we loved the mistic scenery and atmosphere of Capileira and enjoyed the house with the fireplace. We tried some of the local restaurants, but also cooked at home with nice products from the local butcher (main road). Alicia is indeed a great and very caring host. She made us feel comfortable at any time by organizing some extra wood to make a fire on the last day. Thank you very much! We will certainly come back soon.
