OK punta Sam is a district of cancun had problems finding tucked in at side of small boats yard next to around of flats one petrol garage around Corner nothing there so far from life. dont make same mistake I me one night two many😪 taxi driver had to phone for the name of property beware!! Booking .com shud do more research over. Having punta Sam has name of hostel rubbish poor outcome unesserary

“choose another hostel!”
It is a strange and desolate place. It didn't seem like the others in the hostel were tourists (by the way, only men) I didn't feel safe there at all. I was well received by the owner. He opened another floor with a dormitory, as he doesn't think I should sleep in the dormitory with all those men. He said I should just knock on his door if there were any problems (he lived downstairs with his family) He was nice in principle but it all seemed strange and very unsafe. There was no hostel atmosphere at all. The beds were also very bad. I wanted to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres in the morning but was warned by a nice taxi man, at the small restaurant at the ferry station, that I should rather take a boat trip.

Great location for the beach and island ferry. The owner, Basil , was always on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. Don't expect the Ritz and you won't be disappointed.

It is a cheap place to stay. Good if you are on a budget. Owner is nice. Its very convenient for ferry to Isle of Mujer.

“Quiet place away from the main tourist area”
The hostel is in a quiet area away from the main tourist area. This can be good or bad depending on how you like it. The swimming pool was nice and the wi-fi good. It is also close to one of the ferry terminals to Isla Mujeres. The room was basic but nice and the shared bathroom was clean.

“Worst hostel I have stayed in in Mexico, would not recommend”
Ants everywhere, bed had really bad mattress, NOT next to the beach, pool area gravel full of weeds and not looked after. Buses stop at 7pm and then taxi charges extortionate fares. They have used my photos of the hotel next door!!
