“I would stay again if I got the same rate through booking.com”
Big bathtub, nice washroom. Room was quiet, bed was comfortable. Snack plate was a pleasant surprise. Food was great, appys at the bar.

“A nice stay at a gorgeous property”
Checkin was a breeze, the staff was very helpful and very accommodating in all aspects of my stay. I particularly appreciated that I was able to checkout late, and that they offered to bring breakfast to my room (I had to attend an early online meeting). The setting of the property is absolutely gorgeous and a true "winter wonderland" (it must be even prettier in the summer). The wifi was the fastest wifi I had at any hotel, ever.

“Altogether a very interesting experience!”
We loved that Mount Alverno is located in the rolling countryside removed from Toronto's clamour! Arriving at Mount Alverno in the dark, was delightful, as strings of lights lining the driveway and parking area were most welcoming. The front-desk staff were also friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Finding two large, quality bottles (GLASS) of still & sparkling water in the fridge were a life saver after a long day traveling, and the complimentary fruit/dessert platter was much appreciated. Mount Alverno, formerly a monastry which has been revamped into a hotel, has an interesting feel to it, imparting a roomy vibe, mingled with the energy/atmosphere of the building's former purposes - the old bedroom doors adding to this mood. We booked the Superior Suite which was spacious and comfortable, with a luxurious bathroom & tub. The bed & pillows were perfect and the heavy drapes kept the room well-darkened for a restful sleep. The breakfast spread on day #1 was beautiful and offered good choices. Dinner at The Vista Restaurant (in-house) offered good quality food, generous portions and very tasty dishes.

“Great getaway place”
The room was excellent, the staff was attentive and sent a complementary fruits and chocolates for my birthday. The resort is nice and clean. Awesome trail at the island lake conservation area 10 minutes drive from the hotel.

“Disingenuous manager can't honour our booking then appeases with promises he doesn't keep”
They called on the day we were meant to stay there with news that they didn't have our room. Offered us a different room that didn't meet our requirements but we had no choice. Their story changed from one employee to another creating distrust. The manager offered us a complimentary stay at another time of our liking, but then ghosted us when we asked for it in writing. The room we got was fine but highly over charged.

Wonderful staff, both at checkin and restaurant. Food was amazing, just as the reviews stated. Nice sitting outside patio for a beverage before dinner. They upgraded us to a room with a beautiful view. Thanks
