“A terrific place to stay in Cains de Valdeon”

Casa Cuevas was an excellent Hotel to stay for hiking the Ruta de Cares. This older hotel provided a very comfortable stay for the two days we were there. The rooms are compact but comfortable. The breakfast good and the restaurant meals and bar very good. Off street parking. The hosts were very accommodating organising an early breakfast on request. This family run hotel was the perfect place to stay in Cain.

The location of the place is just mind-blowing. Casa Cuevas is a family run place which feels in the sweet and welcoming atmosphere

We arrived on foot after hiking the Ruta del Cares in the dark and heavy rain—soaked, exhausted, and hoping to check in quickly. However, the staff member who was supposed to meet us saw us, greeted us, and then spent about 15 more minutes delivering food to tables, essentially ignoring our arrival, and later handled the check-in in a rushed and disorganized way. This left a very poor first impression. In contrast, the woman working in the morning was attentive and kind, which significantly improved our experience.

“Very frugal hotel before Picos de Europa hiking”

The hotel is located in a perfect place to stay before the expedition to Picos de Europa. Small and frugal. Indoor parking and street parking is also available. But bring your own food, plenty of them, before entering the small town. It is quite deep into the Picos de Europa. There is a small pretty supermarket(..) just across the small bridge. Check the opening time.

Breakfast was coffee, juice and toast, was good. Location was spectacular. The owner also allowed me to park my motorcycle in their garage although it would of been safe outside.

A wonderful hotel right in the heart of the mountains. The staff were great and the breakfast was very good. The room was small but comfortable and quiet. Parking at the front of the hotel is easy with walks on your doorstep. Highly recommended

“Perfect base for exploring the Picos de Europa”

The mountain location is simply stunning and the hosts were extremely welcoming even though we arrived very late. Our stay was unplanned en route to Santiago but turned out to be the best last minute decision as we all loved the hotel, the hospitality, breakfast and the spectacular location and will definitely return to spend more time exploring the area.

One of the most wonderful places I ever been. Mountains unbelievable beautiful around. Hotel located in the small village with authentic houses. Personal of hotel is attentive, friendly and very flexible. Rooms are clean. Restaurant has perfect kitchen and loyalty prices. I definitely will come back again to this fabulous place.

We had a great stay at Casa Cuevas! The owner is super nice. As we were leaving early the next day before breakfast, they prepared breakfast for us the day before, we even had a thermos with coffee, just amazing :) Everything you need for your stay during a hiking holiday!
