A nice hotel by the riverside with a lovely garden full of flowers and trees. It’s run by a very friendly family who helped us with a lot of things. They organized a fantastic boat trip and told us about places reachable with a bicycle. The village is nice and easy to go around by bicycle which we did a lot. The hotel staff cooks delicious meals.

“Great homestay”

The room was huge and comfy and came with complimentary water and bananas. The owner, Vu, is remarkably friendly and gave great tips for onward travel. Breakfast was nice, but I had lunch there, and the family put together a superb vegan meal for me. I was very, very impressed. It was nice to lounge away in the hammock after eating myself to fatness.

“A wonderful stay”

We had a wonderful stay at Sai Mai Cai Be Hotel. We had actually planned to stay for 3 nights but we liked the surroundings so much that we extended 2 more nights. Mr Vu's hotel is very close to picturesque local villages and communities which you can leisurely spend days exploring by riding the hotel bicycles. His hotel balcony on the second floor has a superb view of the river with boats frequently passing by. Cai Be wet market and a supermarket are within reach by a 25mins walk.

Superb. Friendly isn't enough to describe staff here. They are genuine, welcoming and take care of you as if you are their family member. Location is a bit off but offers great tranquility. It:s walkable to other places around Cai Be. Such a great stay!

“An ideal base to explore the Meekong”

Sao Mai was an ideal base to explore the Meekong Delta. Vu and his family were the best hosts willing to help arrange tours, transport and cook for us. It's a lovely place to explore and well worth travelling from Ho Chi Minh rather than just doing away trip. The room was spacious and cool. Breakfast was great and the evening meals very delicious and very reasonably priced. They were very flexible and happy to cater for a vegetarian. We borrowed bikes to explore the area and enjoyed a boat trip around the area as well as a trip to Xeo Quyt. Well worth 2 or 3 nights respite from the cities of Vietnam. Thanks Vu and family!'

Good vibe with a relaxed atmosphere. Suitable for short or long stays. The owner was very helpful with organising buses etc which can be confusing for travellers.

Vu and his family were exceptional hosts. Vu catered so well for me as a vegetarian and went out of his way to tailor sightseeing trips to meet our needs.

A decent family hotel in a good location with excellent people running the business. Not only did we get to stay in a beautiful place for a fair price, but the staff took their personal time to show us around the area. Recommended.

The owner, Mr Vu, is wonderful. When my bus was not stopping in Cai Be, he organized the way back and picked me up with his motorbike the last 5 km at 10 p.m. The rooms are very large, climatizised, the bed comfortable, the bathroom really fine and clean. It's at least 3*+. At the other side it's like a homestay. And Mr Vu nd his family help where they can. So it doesn't wonder, that there are a lot of guests who come here every year. I also will come back.

Superb location overlooking the river. This is a second generation family run hotel where you experience authentic Vietnam Airport or bus pick up and drop off are included, free cooking lessons and free bicycles, a delicious breakfast and dinner. The owner, Vu, can organize tours off the tourist track and tailor made to your interests. The whole family are genuinely welcoming and proud to show you the town they have always lived in and the country they love.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of the staff speaks fluent English. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious.

Fantastic stay, very good dinner cooked each night with excellent variety. Join in the cooking if you like and learn local dishes. If they are doing a tour of Cai Be with hotel guests, I highly recommend this tour. The tour is far better than what is available at CanTho. Breakfast is very good, eggs, fruit, bread. Feels like being welcomed by a family this stay. Extended my stay because I was comfortable there.
