“Amazing”

Our stay at Wildlife Cahuita Lodge was absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. The lodge is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature right in the middle of a rain forest— you truly feel immersed in the jungle while still being comfortable and relaxed. A special thank you to Fernando (aka Tanos), who is an incredible host. He made our stay unforgettable with his kindness, local knowledge, and genuine hospitality. He goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, always ready with great recommendations, stories, and help whenever needed. You can tell he truly cares that everyone has the best experience possible. If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican stay close to nature, with warm hospitality and a unique atmosphere, I highly recommend Wildlife Cahuita Lodge — and if you get to meet Tanos, you’re in great hands.

The Lodge is very nice a little bit away from the town and so quite and peacefull that you can enjoy the sound of the birds, monkeys . Breakfast is good and the night tour with Fernando was amazing, snake and quite a lot of frogs which we would not have discovered without the guide. A good place to relax

“Great accomodation in beautiful nature”

Beautiful accomodation in the middle of fascinating nature, simple, but really nice bungalows. Great breafest prepared by owner Fernando, every day different and very tasty breakfest. Fernando is very friendly person with great knowledge of nature. Night experience with him has been one of the best in Costa Rica for us

“Poorly maintained chalets in beautifully maintained gardens in wonderful country side.”

The location was in a lovely park of Cahuita. The breakfast and morning staff were lovely. The gardens , butterflies and flowers were fantastic. The breakfast staff showed us the use the flowers and herbs used in the drinks and food we were eating for breakfast. The chalet size was very good , and shower and toilet rooms very large .

Absolutely beautiful. Our favourite stay so far. The site is phenomenal - we explored the grounds and loved the nature. The staff were amazing they went above and beyond. Cabin was beautiful and totally allowed disconnection from the world. Lovely breakfast - all fresh from the garden. We loved it.

This stay is worth it, just for the orchestra of bird, frog, and monkey sound you get to fall asleep and wake up to. The breakfasts by Diego are fantastic, featuring some elements from the surrounding gardens. The location is a bit far from cahuita for anyone who is not renting a car or bike, but worth it for the remote, natural feel. Fernando, our night tour guide and host was very welcoming and knowledgeable.

“Wildlife at your doorstep”

Beautiful surroundings, very quiet except for the wildlife. Fernando was very nice and took time to show us around and point out the local animals. Breakfasts were great, all homemade and delicious. Fantastic chocolate every morning! Lots of wildlife literally on the doorstep.

“Beautiful stay”

Our host, he was great and friendly and showed us around the garden and helped us spot a couple snakes, sloth and other creatures. The garden was stunning. He also cooked us up a yummy breakfast. For me the area was great with a car, it's an hour walk from the town along the beach. A bit out the way without a car.

Really loved the location amongst the wildlife and so close to the beach. Very relaxed vibes and enjoyed the breakfasts. Bungalows were fun and quirky.

The place is simply amazing! Waking up with the sounds of forest and especially monkeys was so awesome. Fernardo is great guy connected with nature and very funny. We just regret that we could not spend more time there.

Staying at Wildlife Lodge was an amazing experience. You are right in the middle of a beautiful garden with diverse trees, fruits, and medicinal plants. We had the opportunity to taste home-grown pineapples, bananas, and other delicious fruits. The garden is not only lush and beautiful but also full of life. Fernando has a frog garden that you can explore in search of many species of animals, including red-eyed tree frogs, smoky jungle frogs (one of Costa Rica's largest amphibians – so beautiful!), and eyelash vipers (some rescued by Fernando and released back to the area around the lodge). The bungalows are really nice, in a typical style, comfortable, with a hot shower and offering privacy and seclusion. Beds have mosquito nets, and you can also use the natural insect repellant (works perfectly!) that Fernando provides. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the forest and howler monkeys. Fernando is an amazing person, friendly, with a great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable about animals, plants, and different ways of living. His compassion and empathy for nature are contagious. We loved our chats, learning so much from him about Costa Rica and eating homemade chocolate! The lodge is within walking distance of a beautiful beach where you can swim and be whipped by the waves. If you seek solitude on the one hand and still want to be within short biking or driving distance to Cahuita, Wildlife Lodge is hard to beat. We will be back. Thank you, Fernando, for making our stay so special.

It was one of the best accommodations on our month long Costa Rica trip, great garden full of life, great and helpful host Fernando who showed us the local flora, we also went on a night tour and saw many frogs and snakes.
