“A very special jungle experience.”

This is a small complex, with about ten rooms clustered around a small, artistic pool. It is on a dirt road beside the ocean, surrounded by jungle. You can cross the street and you are at a beach, which is usually deserted. The high light for me was when about 20 howler monkeys, perched in trees just outside of our cabin, and screamed. There were large and small monkeys in the group, but late evening they all left except for three midsize monkeys, which we assumed were juveniles. Those three spent the night in the tree by themselves, but from 5 o’clock in the morning for about an hour, those three yelled and you could hear monkeys in the distance responding to them. Then a couple of big monkeys came and claimed them and they went off into the jungle. There were parrots, an acouti, and all kinds of other birds, but the howler’s were the high point for me.

“Cozy, clean and enjoyable stay with a super host!”

This place is amazing. Nice swimming pool with cool drawings on the bottom. The laid-back vibe, helpful attitude and excellent pizza-making skills from Sylvio, the host are a big bonus! The garden has so many different plants and a cozy vibe. Many birds around, monkeys. We were there when the restaurants was being redecorated, so we could only eat there two nights, but it was the best pizza I ever had. Luckily there we other nice restaurants nearby.

“Just absolute perfection”

The owner Sylvio a perfect German host, very friendly and understanding that we were travelling and not on holiday gave us free rein of the kitchen facilities which were all in excellent working order. The pool was wonderful and such a bonus after a hard day’s sightseeing. The room itself was large and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was just as needed with a great rain shower head. The hammock in the outside area was lovely I could have slept in it barring the bug biters!! Wildlife abounded in fact I was woken most mornings by the howler monkeys and amongst the beautifully planted garden I saw tree frogs and hummingbird nests. The beach is literally a minutes walk over the road perfect for sunrise photos

This place is fantastic! Highly recommend it. Sylvio is a great host, and very attentive. The pool was ideal with our kids 5+9 years. Good to know that the restaurant is temporarily closed but will open again in a couple of months. This was no issue for us, as we enjoyed the communal kitchen very much!

The rooms were nice and spacious. The pool was not very welcoming, maybe a clean up would help.

The accommodation is in a very quiet and pleasant area, but still close to everything. It’s easy to reach, and the ocean is just a short walk away. The room was very clean and well-equipped with everything I needed. The host was extremely kind and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely stay here again!

“Quirky hotel in great beach town”

Comfortable, quirky hotel with fab host. Roomy, good aircon, nice pool. Beach access right across road, 15 min drive to town, other restaurants nearer. Great bar just down road. Sylvio makes a fab pizza!

“We really liked it”

Location was a few minute drive from the main town, which we liked as it was quiet and direct access to the beach which most of the time we had to ourselves. Room was big and comfortable. Had a pool to use which was also nice and clean. Owner was lovely and helpful with recommendations for places to eat and visit. Also knowledgeable about the local wildlife

Excellent location, close to Cahuita , but far enough from The noise. Nice breakfast. We also dined there one evening and the food was delicious.

We loved this hidden gem, it’s a stunning spot right near a quiet beach, you can hear the wildlife around you and it is so peaceful and tranquil. Alberto is so friendly and happy to offer any assistance or guidance, his breakfast is also a must have, absolutely delicious!! The pool is lovely, bed extremely comfy, rooms are slightly dated but it didn’t affect our comfort and we would still return in a heartbeat. If there on a Friday would highly recommend the reggae bar down the road that has live music, dancing and an overall brilliant atmosphere-food here also looked great

“Short walk to the beach, remote, beautiful, quiet hotel ,full of wildlife”

Personally cooked and juiced by our host who took great care in ensuring that it was all as we ordered and delicious. It was wholesome enough to last us until the evening, so we could have a full day having fun without a need for lunch.

What an amazing location, right across the street from the beach. ,Super friendly staff that made us feel very welcomed! Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Delicious breakfast served with great coffe and bread. Great place to stay when visiting Cahuita. We will definetly return in the future.
