Located opposite the Caen SNCF Train Station, La Consigne Caen Gare SNCF Centre is just 1.5 km from the city centre. “Nice hotel; clean, comfortable. VERY nice staff. NO PARKING DESPITE WHAT BOOKING.COM HAD PROMISED.”
The comfort was excellent, the location very good, the breakfast OK. The best was the staff, extremely helpful and deserving a lot of praise. So why wouldn't I rent again (at least if I travel by car). See below.

The room was clean but 2nd floor hard for baggage. The manager was pleasant and agreed to a late check-in - 8.30pm because the train was late. The water pressure in the shower was good.
