Overview
Situated in Caen’s city centre, the Best Western Plus Le Moderne is a non-smoking hotel and is just 1.5 km from the train station and 6 km from Carpiquet Airport. The Château Ducal is only a 2-minute walk away and the Caen Abbeys are a 5-minute walk from the hotel. At the Best Western Plus Le Moderne each room has individually-controlled air conditioning and heating. All rooms are en suite and soundproofed. They feature spacious and individually decorated spaces. The buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the 1st floor. Traditional restaurants as well as pizzerias are found within a 3-minute walk of the hotel and bars and shops are also nearby. The hotel is set in the heart of Caen's historical district and the street is pedestrianized, guests can still unload their luggage from their vehicle in front of the hotel, before parking elsewhere. Private parking is available on site upon reservation at an extra cost, subject to availability, and Parking Republique public car park is just 1 minute walk away.

“Amazing team and friendly, great breakfast and central”
Absolutely central location and perfect for what we needed. There was parking on site with ev charging which was a real bonus. The best point and the one that I am most happy about was the staff, the person on reception when I arrived was so helpful and friendly. In getting parked, using the ev charger successfully and by organising dinner and booking it on our behalf. - the friendliness and support from the team was by far the best thing about the stay.

“A lovely hotel in the centre of Caen.”
The location was great and the secure parking was good for us. The receptionist was very helpful, for example with restaurant suggestions. The rooms are very smart and clean.

Very central to shops, restaurants and sights, helpful staff, secure underground car park. Reception was staffed 24 hours a day. Easy to pick up food for breakfasts rather than pay the 18 euros for the hotel's breakfast.

Comfortable and spacious room, beds were very comfortable and good air-conditioning. Excellent location. Staff contacted us prior to arrival to notify us of nearby free/cheap parking which was extremely helpful.

Nice, central location (although Satnav took us to the nearby sister hotel, the Royal..) Friendly welcome. Comfortable bed. Two opening windows, so no need to use air-con.
